It looks like Kirk has won the Democratic race. He's a good man that will do a good job if he wins it all.
The key to all elections is the turn out and voice of the black race. We make the difference whether show or not. When we don't, we live up to the other race's expectation of us. When we do, we scare them and earn their respect. I can't wait to see the day that we are respected at the polls and in Congress again.

He's going to go all the way baby; even in the midst of all the adversity that surrounding yesterday's voting process. Thanks to us for getting out and exercising our right to VOTE on yesterday and the days preceding.

I believe Miss. nominated an A/A Dem for the Senate last year and he got trounced. The fact remains is that the Senate is still one of the most exclusive clubs in America. Frankly, Texas is a state that is "right of center" and I'm sure the GOP is going to call Kirk too liberal. Just this alone should be enough to unite the hicks. Even the Latinos are problematic as the GOP regularly courts their vote.
I teach an intro to poli sci course and my lecture on black senators is extremely short. Since the reconstruction era, there have only been two black senators - Edward Brooke (Mass) 67-79 and Carol Braun (Ill) 93-99.
Nevertheless, an A/A in NC (forget his name) gave Jesse Helms a run for his money a few years back.
Either way, make sure you support the brotha and vote.

All of that is true and correct. However the reason is because BLACKS have cast there votes for non-Blacks and/or we simply haven't turned out to vote.
We must start reminding and encouraging our people to vote no matter what; no matter how big or small. We know who carries our interest, whether they have big campaign money or not. We have go and cast the vote regardless of what the polls say and not be fooled into thinking our vote doesn't count. It doesn't count when we don't cast it. Problem is TOO MANY of us are not making our VOTE COUNT.
Blacks determine the faith of every election. When we cast our vote actively participate in electing who we want and receive their respect. When we don't, we passively allow everyone else to tell us who will represent us and give us no respect.
Every since the shocking Ray Mabus upset, Missisissippi has taken a serious Republican switch. Texas switched a few years later also in a dramatic manner. Kirk represents Texas' opportunity to get some Democratic respect in Texas. Look at the turnouts and you'll also see BLACKS aren't as active voting.
Go KIRK!!!! Better yet, all my people, let's become dedicated to making sure our vote is counted in every election.

Did you all hear that the Republican candidate's campaign manager stated that Kirk (black) and the Hispanic candidate are Texas publics method of affirmative action politics. Of course Cornin distanced himself from the statement and claims he will not tolerate those types of comments. Yet, the guy is still on his staff. Think about it. Bush is on his way down to campaign for him.
Just another example of how folks don't respect the Black vote. When we, individually, don't cast our vote, we prove them right and give them the approval to continue to disrespect our voting power.
