Tenn State vs Georgia State on ESPN3

Tennessee State was able to run the football and stop the run. That is often huge in any game-congratulations Tigers. I do not expect huge things from Georgia State, but this is a big win-especially when there is at least a 22 scholarship difference between the teams.

I did not see many comments from the Georgia State crowd but am sure that many of them counted this as a guaranteed win.

Georgia State is an unofficial HBCU ... most of the student body is black.

Waiting on the folks to say that Tennessee State should be the "Undeclared HBCU Football Champion"
I don't think that will be an issue because a relative of mind who is attending TnSU told me that they cannot legally refer to themselves as a HBCU. I didn't go into the details of that with her but I'm assuming it has something to do with that merger they had with a PWI some years ago.

To put a long story, I think that TnSU came out on top in the suit and think they can call themselves an HBCU. I will find the links to that suit.

I doubt that seriously

Students, grads and fans of FBS schools usually to not tolerate losses to FCS schools-even if the FCS school is North Dakota State, Youngstown State or James Madison. Some want will want the coach fired immediately. It has happened before (article, another article). In games like these, they tend to overrate their team and/or underrate the other team. I wonder how many Michigan fans underrated Appalachian State 10 years ago.

A similar feeling is in basketball. I will bet that few from Arkansas thought that TSU would be as competitive in the NCAA first round game despite TSU beating division one teams like Minnesota 91-70 during that season. (I was not surprised by TSU's effort even though their leading scorer hurt his ankle in the SWAC tournament championship game.) BTW Arkansas defeated TSU by 66 the previous season.

On a related note, Georgia State may have a good season. We will see.

Bruh Ga. State just move up. They have no legacy to be concern about.

In all honesty GaState is a hbcu unclassified. All three of my baby sister girls went there. Two are graduates and one went back .

GA State doesnt have a fanbase.

they had 20K in there and are FBS on the books. That's the teams you schedule as the talent level evens out.

Now their season is shot.
