Quarterbacks Steve McNair and Peyton Manning each garnered 16 of the 50 available votes and have been named the NFL?s co-MVPs by the Associated Press. "My words can't express how I feel being co-MVP with another great quarterback like Peyton,? said McNair of the honor. ?It's very emotional right now for me that people look at me as being one of the top quarterbacks of the NFL, one of the top players, and a co-MVP.? Manning felt similarly about sharing the award. "This is such a tremendous honor," he said. "And to be sharing it with Steve, a player I have the most respect for and who has had a tremendous year, and to be ahead of guys like Tom Brady, who's a friend of mine, and Jamal Lewis, a former teammate of mine at Tennessee who easily could have been there, as well, it's tremendous." Brady finished third with eight votes, followed by Jamal Lewis (five), Priest Holmes (three), and Ray Lewis (two). This is the third time the NFL has named co-MVPs, the most recent being in 1997 when Brett Favre and Barry Sanders shared the award.

You can?t go wrong with either Manning or McNair as your MVP, but it?s a little odd that not a single NFC player received a vote. Last we checked, guys like Favre and Ahman Green had pretty good seasons as well.

H3ll naw!! McNair is more valuable than J. Lewis. Lewis won offensive player of the year and he deserves that but Ray Lewis is more valuable than Jamal Lewis.:rolleyes:

I predict a third Lewis major award:

Offense-Jamal
Defense-Ray
Coach-Marvin
 
don't get me wrong Jamal Lewis had a great year, but MVP? Knee gro please!!!!! He isn't even the MVP on his own team! The Titans are all McNair, Jevon Kearse can't stay healthy, Eddie George is nowhere near what he used to be, and a just above average receiving corps (Derrick Mason can ball). I think they made the right decision.:idea:



I just can't believe that this is McNair's first time ever going to the Pro Bowl
 



I'm just happy that the 1st BLACK NFL MVP QB (after all the years they said we couldn't do it{for the way they treated Doug Williams}) came from they swac.
