SWAC TV

I'm usually at the games (in person or working them) so this is my 1st time watching SWACTV at home (2nd time overall but not under this SWACTV format)

It's the 1st year so hiccups are expected but watching the JSU game, I got a couple of gripes:

* train your camera people to accurately follow the action You shouldn't be trying to adjust the camera position before the snap

* suggested this before but the band halftime shows should have their own cameras with input from the established band outlets (ShowtimeWeb, KillaKev, etc). Using the same cameras that you use for the game with shaky camera people lead to some awkward angles when the Boom was on the field. Also the halftime shows should have separate sponsors

let those band folks have it - no way they'll ever get embedded into production lol

ESPN (TV) & HBCU GO are hands down the best ones as they invest in the satellite trucks, production, talent, camera, audios, etc. but thats broadcast TV

ESPN+ (exclusive games on there) is a slimmer version of the above with minimum specs most time but its cut and dry

SWAC-TV is basically ESPN+ but way less restrictions and more potential and FREE - no complaints here lol

Black folks gone complain NO MATTER WHAT. Complained during the BET days… HBCU go games, complain about Bayou Classic on NBC and Peacock, complained with ESPNU and ESPN plus… and complaining now. YOU WILL NEVER be satisfied!

SWAC TV needs better production where it's the same at all the game sites. Right now that's not happening and you can tell.

It's free at the end of the day so I won't complain - to what we're wanting now cuts into potential profits - more things to make it work flawlessly requires more investment and the bottom line -

To give you a behind the scenes POV, it's basically SWAC people with a computer, monitor and cameras at different areas in the stadium. At Alcorn, I'm literally standing next to the people running one of the computers

I think what he is talking about is everyone being at the same level as far as coverage. He is correct in that retrospect. I would want the broadcast team but not the camera people from the JSU game. The Grambling game was better overall.

Just a small note because I know how much work it takes to do this, so not bad at all for a debut year. However, for NEXT year, let’s try to all get the same cameras, gfx packages, and mics with the SWAC logo for the talent.

Also, I think each school should come up with a 20-30 sec insert showing their sports programs and how they can support their collectives. This will help for more commercial content. For classics, let’s get these coaches to shoot a fun promotion to help advertise them as well. I see it for Vegas. Next year let’s do the Orange Blossom Classic, State Fair Classic, boombox classic, mobile classic, Florida classic, Bayou classic, the Magic city classic etc. Air them when the involved teams are in the prime time slot. Vegas did a good job with promotions.

Just doing these things in year two will make the product look a lot better. Keep it up SWAC.
