TP, I love Roinson Stadium for so many reasons but I would like to see a new scoreboard and Fieldturf. Everything else can stay the same and of course the name change to EDDIE ROBINSON STADIUM.

A statue of Coach Rob would not hurt either.

I feell the sam way too, hell white schools wouldve been had a statue of a figure like Eddie Rob in front of a stadium NAMED after dat person, Sometimes GRAMBLING can jus.... lemme quit:smug:

Most of the time persons aren't honored with a building named after them or a statue until after they have died (please note, there are exceptions). This is done so that the name is not tarnished in life after they have received the honor.

For example, if former Washington DC mayor Marion Barry had a building named for him right after he was mayor all would have been hunky-dory. But, since then he has bascially gone down hill in the view of the public and folks would be petitioning for the removal of his name in the light of his drug addiction.

I still cannot get JSU/SU game outta my head. Seeing all those White shirts in Memorial was surreal.

S.U. vs. JSU........in Jackson..........My Label............"Big Time Black College Football."

JROCK's Special Games vs. S.U.

1) Gram
2) JSU
3) FAMU
4) TNST
5) Alcorn

Good point.....even though recently the schools have been better about not waiting till you die. For example the Dean Smith center at North Carolina and the Isaac Greggs Band Hall on SU's campus. LOL.

R U talking about games at their stadiums or at ours?

Our stadium is pretty straight. I just have a problem with the parking lot on the West Side(home side). The parking lot is in shambles and its disappointing because you see that nice stadium and press box, but have to walk through mud and pot holes to get there. But in a winning season its makes me very proud to see that they have to set up bleachers to handle the crowds(I mean the stadium already holds dayum near 25,000).And this is even when the opposing team DOESNT bring their band.

My last post was a slight digression. :emlaugh:

That is a nice stadium also. I never going there when GSU first starting playing there again and the game was on MBC. One helluva of a drive but it was nice. The field was beautiful. The stadium was packed too. 30k will be massive.

One thing I like about football season is traveling to different swac stadiums.

Dayum Parking had my head hurtin though.

BachMegatone, Where's my dayum change at ????

Nachos: $5.00
STC: $7.00

Change: $2.00:shame: :shame: :shame:

Even seven months later, people here are still talking about the JSU/SU game.

That was my first time going to a JSU/SU game. It was a great experience. I dayum near cussed 700 times trying to find a space. I got a parking ticket and thought I was gonna park in the parkng lot on the opposite side of the stadium where all the jags where. OH NO!! I must have driven around for a dayum hour cussin out all the mofos who parked in double spaces only to leave out of there and ride and stop some more. Until I parked on the other side of the stadium on the grass. It was worth it though.

I was gone get there like a hour before gametime and find a spot. Yeah Right.

Good thing I woke up and headed to the stadium early. Once the game started it was cool then.

I'll never forget SU band playing before the game even started.

Last fall I REALLY enjoyed myself going to other games when I could. That dayum SU/PV game is burnt in my membrane forever. It rained too and SU band kept performing at halftime like it was not even raining. Watching PV defense harass and give JC lewis total and complete hell was funny.

And when ol dude from PV ran it in on that sweep to the outside I dayum near passed out.

Oh Hell Naw! That long arse walk! The new SGA prez is going to try pressure the admin for parking garages, bout dayum time.

We ain't Alcorn ..... continue to bring that puttytat to Mumford.

But, that is one of the best atmospheres I have ever been involved with.

Co-sign, but I do not think it will happen. The scoreboard was to be put in a while back, so far....

Retarded people makin Retarded Decisions will mess some shat up!!!!

I liked the home and home deal.

That literacy classic crap STINKS!!!!!!:shame: :shame: :shame:
In that game they said it was at least 15,000 people who saw their first HBCU football game

Anyway, a lot of UAPB fans were hoping GSU would turn the deal down b/c it was yall home game. When we found out that GSU accepted the terms..we kind of figured that BANCORP paid a good some for GSU to give up a home game. But Dr. Fritz Hill he's a good guy he was not out for profit he is strictly for raising money for illiteracy and for the Delta. There is a 15% illiteracy rate in Jefferson County alone and that's not the whole Delta.

He is the president of Arkansas Baptist College and he has it moving in the right direction,he hired Arkansas high school legendary in Coach Ripley(Derek Fisher's high school coach) and he hired Minneapolis top football coach to coach their new Junior college football team. Dr. Fritz Hill has a lot of financial connections. That goes to show you, sponsors do not mind giving money to someone that has good intentions and a track record of doing things right. Plus he is real down to Earth.

yea we know. lol.

We are still trying to figure out when this "Gold Rush Takeover" is supposed to start....?
Don't act flip......That gold rush started in 99. I guess my SU classmate Howard White done made big money off yall too. LOL.

I am glad that that 15k saw their first hbcu game and that's just peachy. That was a HOME game for GSU. I don't mind mind moving the away game to alaska but HOME GAMES should not be fugged with. I am sure that Dr. Fitz Hill is cool and all but I DON'T LIKE THE FACT OF HOME GAMES getting moved for nobody. I want as many home games as possible. Believe me. Alot of GSU fans was not too happy with giving up a home game. I'm conscerned about Illiteracy in lincoln parish also. Illiteracy is everywhere. I just don't like the idea of giving up a home game like that.
