SWAC Policy on visiting team tickets

I noticed in the Advocate where TSU sent SU 15,000 tickets for this week's game. This has to be against the norm considering the size of Robertson's stadium.

Is there an official policy on how many tickets schools are required to send to the visiting team?

The SWAC has no policy on the amount above minimum which I think is 3000, better yet they have no cap.

Thanks bluedog..

I just found it interesting that a team would send almost 50% of its stadium capacity to the visitor. But I guess TSU realizes they can't sell the seats in Houston.

If I was our Athletic Director, I would have sent 3,000 to Baton Rouge and made the rest pay at the gate: $26.

Or just charge more for the tickets you send to BR, like they did 2 years ago.

I actually think this is going to backfire. Some people will pay it but a lot of people who have not purchased by Saturday will just stay in the parking lot and party and listen on the radio. It won't be the first time this has happened.

The tickets should be the same price on Saturday as any other day.

Dumb move on TSU's part on their biggest payday of the season.

They raise prices on gameday for every game.

HBCU's cannot afford to have any more weak administrators. Please do like Kizzy (stay put). The A.D. thing is not for you.

It really don't matter how much they charge to get a payday. Once again a Swac school is renting someone else
stadium. Someone else will collect the parking money and
tickets at the gates. Then tell tsu how much profit it have. When at the mercy of a third
party. . So go ahead an try
to make money this weekend. TSU haven't all year long.:D

Wow!! So you know for a fact that Texas Southern won't have it's own staff and employees working the ticket box and parking?

Tell me another untruth please....

Raising the ticket prices on the day of the event is basically standard practice. It is to call to action the consumer to get the tickets early and avoid a ticket increase. It also takes into account the publics "wait around to the last minute" mentality. No one wants to be stuck with a ticket they won't use.

Standard for who? I've attended many college and professional events and the tickets are the same price the day of the game.

I actually always buy my tickets well in advance but some don't. It seems to me as an AD the objective is to sell as many tickets as possible. Anyway.. I'm finished with that..

FYI.. JAGS coming from out of town.... You can buy tickets for $19 on Saturday morning from 8-10 at the TSU Bookstore(713-313-7030) on campus. The $26 price is only being charged at Roberston stadium

c-leb28, one again you seem proud to be using "OPP" . Way
to go . It doesn't matter what staff is used you are doing
what U do best. Renting, fix up Your own stadium... Then
holla back. Hope you make enough to pay rental fees. I plan to visit family, friends, and listern on the reddiooo...:D

Our administration is so stupid; instead of trying to market our students and alumni, they sit back and wait for Southern to bring their fans to town for a payday. :redhot: :bawling:

GJOHN, this is where you are correct/incorrect.

Correct. We are renting out UH's Robertson Stadium.

Incorrect. Someone else will not collect the parking money; Texas Southern employees will be doing so.

Incorrect. Someone else will not collect the money at the gate; Texas Southern employees will be doing so.

Incorrect. Texas Southern employees will be collecting money for gazebo rentals.

Incorrect. Plenty of revenue will be made this weekend.

You may have something here. Several TSU fans have voiced their displeasure since the game over the $26 price at the gate. Some were even on Ralph's show this week saing they turned around when the person at the gate told them tickets were $26.

I heard of raising prices on game day but never by 45%.

In the end, TSU fans (who traditionally buy on gameday) were hurt a lot worse than SU people.

Well the TSU fans are going to start getting off their butts earlier in the week and get their tickets.
