I think we get so caught up into saying we're playing an FBS school that we lose focus sometimes. Having 3 straight road games to start the season, against FBS schools to boot, IMO, isn't ideal.Sting said:

We are not looking for sure wins that have little to no financial value. Based upon the needs of the program and where we want to go, it is necessary to up our competitive level. With a complete defensive line, two of the games can be competitive, with a possible close game against UAB. We need to have this type of schedule for three years to achieve some of our goals.

No, that's not it. We have needs in the athletic department that cannot be adequately addressed solely by fundraising because the majority of raised funds has to be devoted to other needs of the university. This is the course I have urged for quite a few years and I am glad we finally did it.

Thanks to the overly smart SWAC Commissioner for coming up with the brilliant formula to determine your permanent out of division opponent. The two are based on the closet and farthest away from your campus. Now that was downright smart. He would be great on Trump’s staff. Southern is 108 from Alcorn and Grambling is 144. I told you he was smart.

my sentiments exactly...our focus is infrastructure and being proactive with the increase in enrollment
besides the new dorm complex ...we will probably have a new videoboard for the stadium also in fall 2017

If anyone knows their 2 games that don't count in the swac or the 2 teams that you wont play in the swac for 2017 please post. The only team I know that A&M is not playing for sure is PV, because their schedule is posted.

You are right. A&M and ASU are paired with the Texas schools. Therefore we drop off either UAPB, SU, or GSU.
I think what he meant was that the Alabama and Texas schools were paired together as ASU with PV and AAMU with TSU not with both being paired together.
