Ninja please. Miss me with this bull corn.SU fans talk more shit and y'all just now got in the picture only because grambling had a few down years. Sthu. I can't wait till JSU, Grambling and can't forget alcorn whom SU can't seem to beat whoop y'all ass this year. Until SU is rolling at the same time Grambling is rolling as well then until then you guys and gals are still irrelevant .
If your a new coach and you have an important part of the puzzle missing which was the o-line and changing over to an entire new offensive philosophy why would the fans of the school I'm coaching want me gone the first year ? He got rid of the bad apple which was the 3-4 defense. If we were running a 4-3 All season I honestly believe we could have won more games. I could see if I ran the same system that the coach before me did but this is an entire new system. I'm baffled on why some suggest that HJ should be gone. Almost all coaches have ruff first and sometimes second seasons so why not support coach until he honestly proves he's not worthy. No matter who your coach is until they get the chance to prove themselves worthy or not then you have to ride with him. JSU came from McCalls run first approach to the now run n shoot. There's even different type of linemens that you need for a run n shoot versus a run first. So we can't judge the first season so hard . If you where hired to run a company and some of the employees did things the way they are use to but it's not what you desire to fit your ideology then you either try to teach them your plans or start working on some new employees. Some people say well JSU had all that talent but if Comegy recruited the talent he had for what they he wanted to run doesn't nessasarily mean it's what the new coach needs or could use. Miss state Dak Prescott might be a star at MSU but transfer to Auburn and he might not see the field. one could would say well he helped miss state to a bowl so why he not on the field . But if doesn't fit there philosophy then his attributes at MSU doesn't guarantee success over at auburn. Every coach has the right to build there own system, meaning bring in your recruits to the point where you can say you recruited every guy on the team. Some times players from previous staffs don't bUy into the new guys system or atleast not fast so hey instead of downing coach Jackson let's support him until he proves after getting everything he said he needed, he still did not come out on top until then we have to support him and the team. We might be sitting on a gold mine. Nothing that comes fast is always good. You can build a team in sometimes one year but building a program sometimes takes time. Last year we lost to Atleast the same that Comegy lost to honestly. Grbling game was very close but they played 3 outstanding teams before us which in term prepared them a little. Alabama state game was tied until we lost all except one olineman. We beat alcorn and Valley plays us tough every year for about the last 3 to 4 years, to the point of JSU winning by 1 point one years and by only a touchdown the other. So I'm excited and ready to support the Tigers as they aim toward Houston and Atlanta in December.@Jimmyoliver
I agree with you on everything else but its only a few alumni subsidizing OMJ (Old Man Jackson) there are more disgruntled alum than happy ones...

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFB) - The new and returning talent for the Southern University Jaguars are looking forward to being trained by their new strength coach.
“Some of them like to take their shirts off and look at themselves now.. I don’t even know why," said SU Head Coach Dawson Odums.
He's talking about former LSU strength coach Josh Lawson.
Some players are enjoying Lawson's new program, like Anthony Mosley, the senior offensive lineman. “He’s great. He knows what we need to work on, he came from LSU so he knows what we need right now.”
I see the Southern folks got to even bring up LSU in the their SWAC Media Day..."We gonna to be better than LSU now because we got their strength coach/trainer"...LMAO

Man you hit it dead on the head!! I think they'll surprise a lot of doubters this year and I'm really excited!!If your a new coach and you have an important part of the puzzle missing which was the o-line and changing over to an entire new offensive philosophy why would the fans of the school I'm coaching want me gone the first year ? And I hope that those bad azz kids that he dealt with over there don't rub off on our players.BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFB) - The new and returning talent for the Southern University Jaguars are looking forward to being trained by their new strength coach.

Man you hit it dead on the head!! I think they'll surprise a lot of doubters this year and I'm really excited!!
And the way I see it is you might as well support them because of right now there 0-0, which means they have a chance of being successful. Now after 75 percent of the season and they look bad then I agree that it would be time for evaluation but as of now there as expected 5-7 the first year then this year it should be a big improvement atleast 7-4. Comegy left JSU just in time because the swac now a day would expose him because all schools are on a rise so it's not as easy as it was when he was at JSU . As bad as we were last year no one just embarrassed us and again honestly I say that 3-4 was the biggest down fall which has been fixed, it was IVY first full season so hey I'm ready to see this thing pan out. We have a hell of a receiver corps coming back and a stable of back along with a oline to help QB protection and to open up some holes. One thing I can say about Comegy and his staff at JSU, we got out coached a lot of times. Atleast as of now we haven't gotten out coached we just did not have the depth. You have NFL teams that when they lack depth at certain positions sometimes they call that a below average season before they even start because you can't be week in certain positions and expect to turn water into wine. coach Jackson said he needed this and that and they went back and got those additions and until we see that even with the additions we are still not showing improvements then we need to support the team. I honestly see JSU beating the first three. You guys this is JSU if you know what I mean. Hell honestly majority of our wins during Comegy era was not do to his coaching ability it was due to the talent that he brought in to fit there wish list so allow HJ the same opportunity. Like I said we could be sitting on a gold mine and not even aware because we to focused on something else that's really not important until proven guilty . And you right sop1983. That's why I haven't really been commenting on topics about JSU because I know they do all the talking they need during the season.Man you hit it dead on the head!! I think they'll surprise a lot of doubters this year and I'm really excited!!

They will learn real soon!! I HOPE they keep on sleeping on us like they're doing!! It's about to get real in the swac.If we ran a 4-3 last year, we would have ran Grambling, Valley and PV off the field and we would not have looked like fools in Memphis... LOL We should have easily started the season at 6-1. These JSU haters are lost... LOL By the time we got to AAMU and AlaState we had depth issues but I am sure we could have beat them as well. All they see is that OMJ is the coach... They gone learn tho! lol
You do realize none of us are on the coaching staff, nor are we playing on the field? Us fans can sleep as much as we want to, it won't affect the outcome of the game. lolThey will learn real soon!! I HOPE they keep on sleeping on us like they're doing!! It's about to get real in the swac.
Heck, he probably wanted to escape from the LSU prison system that Les Miles is over there building. lolBIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFB) - The new and returning talent for the Southern University Jaguars are looking forward to being trained by their new strength coach.

You know we like to clown the coaches. Y'all had a field day driving Stump and Big Worm. Now it's Jackson's turn. lolThat's what I mean when people keep talking about OMJ like he's on the field or something. That man won't play a down!!

You guys are the ones saying that Jsu won't be good because OMJ is the coach. I'm saying the same thing you're thinking homeboy, that's dumb because he doesn't play football!! Goodness!!!I was just thinking to myself "fans can say some of the dumbest isht"
I get what you're saying, but he is ultimately responsible for preparing those players to be ready to play each weekend.
