The SWAC released its 2015 All-Academic Team, which honored 1,150 student-athletes who have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, on Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson State had the most athletes honored with 177, which helped them earn the Institutional Academic Excellence Award.

The Tigers had 13 more students with a GPA of 3.0 or better than the next school, which was Alabama State.

Iiiiiiiiiiii dont know about Bama St being on that list naw. I mean, just a month ago they didn't even know what "APR" was and now they're on the list? Something ain't right about that. Imma have to get with Josh Moon and confirm that they do belong on that list.

Don't believe everything Josh Moon say he is just trying to keep a job with a struggling newspaper business. He really fool a lot of y'all with this false accusations.
Iiiiiiii don't know Buzzy. JM has been a staple around here. He's provided us a lot of "good" info for years. Your a newbie without a sponsor. So, I think I'll take JM's view over yours.

That's fine you can believe anything Josh Moon say but people with common sense should investigate anything he writes before making a judgement. I bet you are still mad the SWAC Commissioner's Cup reside in Montgomery too.

I think JSU is doing it backwards. Whatever funds we are putting towards the academic side of sports can be directed and the athletic side. The SWAC has no academic standards so there is no consequence to being a poor academic institution. Why put any effort to getting your academics in order if the SWAC lets poor academic achieving schools contend for SWAC titles. There is NO incentive for SWAC schools be in good academic standing. So whats the point. Schools like SU and Bama State are doing it the right way....no academics no problem, the SWAC doesnt care anyway.
