SWAC Football Championship, Basketball Tournament show attendance increases

Actually, what he is saying is not true. Most of the time, the economic impact is a real number which is why they don't post the number until they at least get a very good estimate and most of the time, you can see the difference in tax revenues which give a very accurate account of the impact.
If you're gullible enough to believe that the economic impact is a real number, then ok. :retard:

I guess attendance aint the end all, be all that for YEARS, you people have made it out to be. Now its the economic impact. The SWAC's pockets are so deep, that attendance figure$ that would directly benefit the SWAC are secondary to the economic impact to the local malls, gas stations and liquor stores.
:retard:

Yeah, let's take the SCG away from Reliant Stadium and bring it back to Legion Field. While we're at it, I want to go to the playoffs (thanks bluedog). BTW, pig isn't pork! :emlaugh:

Im not gullible at all. Economic impact is not the same as numbers thrown together such as an athletic budget. You just want to be right... like when you said the SCG was a part of the NCAA ban. But it's okay to be wrong sometimes.

Also, economic impact is VERY important to a city which is why they would rather give real numbers. If the economic impact is good, it increases the chances for sponsorships. ..and NO ONE has said that the attendance number is secondary. Where did you make that up from? This was the THIRD hightest attended SCG right behind Jackson State-SU (1999) and Jackson State-Grambling (2007). I think in the future, a SCG in Houston will be the highest ever attended. I can also see people going to Houston even if their team is not in the game. For a first year, I think it was great. Let's just hope the wrong elements don't get involved and destroy it. IF Alabama State ever goes, you will change your tune... LOL Going to Houston was far more expensive for me vs going to Bham but it was def worth it.

It seems like you took the scenic route, because what I posted was the mileage from Atlanta to Houston going through Baton Rouge.

Atlanta to Dallas - 781 miles
Dallas to Houston - 239 miles
Total - 1,020 miles

It was a late decision so the better flight was to Dallas. We drove to Houston .... in that mess.

I knew it would be successful with the match but the test will be if neither SU or JSU or even GSU is not in the SCG. I say GSU because our alumni is deep in Texas. So lets just say if we have a Alabama A&M vs UAPB SCG, i would love to see how that comes out, hopefully it would be well attended, makes the conference look good.

Okay, you flew to Dallas and drove to Houston. That makes more sense now. What was the difference in price by flying to Dallas, renting a car, and driving from Dallas to Houston versus just flying straight to Houston?

In that case, you would have to hope that a lot of casual fans come to the event. Kind of like when they had a Baylor vs. UCF matchup in the Fiesta Bowl. They had to depend on the locals supporting the event.

I always fly straight to Houston out of Atlanta........
