It was TxSou's homecoming?

Coaching. Bottom line. Coaching. Any coach would love to play in front of a good fan base no matter who the coach is. Big school or small school. You think ND State coach would still be there if he had no fans showing up even when winning?
Some schools are actually winning and have no fans coming. Yall know damn well if SU is winning the games are packed. Even when we are not, it is still more than pretty much everybody in the SWAC not named JSU. The problem for SU is not the players. It has been coaching. Why you think Heish wanted that job so bad outside of it being his alma mater. Same reason Doug wanted to sneak in the back door before we hired Stump. Kids want to see a lot of things. They want to see wins, they want to be able to play pretty soon, they like to see some facilities and of course they want to see some fans in the stands. How do you think those TxSU kids feel everytime they walk into their home stadium? You think the kids in the local area want to go play there looking at that? Just saying.
Everybody knows southern has high attendance. That's not what this is about. You guys brought up the fact that the Louisiana SLC schools need your attendance for recruiting purposes. I'm just trying to figure out how are you guys using your OWN attendance as a recruiting advantage vs the SLC schools and what are the results? Currently, no one in their right mind in Louisiana or anywhere would say that SU's football program is stronger than say a McNeese despite SU having more fans and a better game day experience. The Northwestern result speaks for itself. SU is probably better than Nicholls though. I tend to forget about them.

You need to re-read what was posted. Nothing was said that the SLC needs our attendance for recruiting purposes, but they are making money by placing SWAC schools on their schedule.
To help with recruiting. Northwestern brought in a lot of recruits for that game, as that's the only game they will have a great crowd. Recruits aren't impressed with empty stadiums. Last season SU had the highest rated FCS class in Louisiana. If you have a advantage, why even give your competition a chance to cut into it.
Did you miss this?

The SLC schools in La outside of McNeese are struggling with recruiting. The emergence of ULM, ULL and La Tech has hurt them as well. McNeese State still does well because they have made good coaching hires and have a solid staff. So us going against them has not been bad in the recruiting process outside of not getting that white OL and DL. That's where we lose the battle. I wish we would recruit some of them La white boys to SU to play. Especially in the trenches. Skill position players they really don't out recruit SWAC schools. Their coaching and the line play normally is the difference.
The attendance thing is only part of the recruiting process. If you are not winning, it doesn't help as much if you are winning. Then you already know how those PWCs even at our level talk lowly of our schools. They have scoreboard on us and we can't deny it. Well at least PV can go after kids wanting to go to SF Austin in Texas and say we beat them. That helps tremendously.
The 2,186 is wrong for the ASU-TSU game. Since it was TSU's Homecoming, one would have thought it would have been more fans there. The stadium alone, because of its look and attractiveness should have done the job. It's was sad sitting in the stadium and witnessing this for myself. My estimation would be more around 500 and that's pushing it.

Since everyone is considered smalltime, is that the reason why Prairie View hasn't upgraded its football facilities in 50 years? It really seems like attendance doesn't mean much to Prairie View. I guess P was right when he decided to personally place his alma mater on blast for the conditions of its football facilities.
So when the quote was pointed out you decide to divert and try to attack Storm's school. What does any of that have to do with the discussion going on? PV is still getting their recruits either way. Don't worry about us and our place, we getting ours.

This is just stupid. What on earth does PV's facilities have to do with any of this? I've pretty much ignored all of your other references about "the worst D1 facilities" because that clearly hasn't hindered PV when it comes to the fact that our last championship is a lot more recent than yours. But that's not what this is about. You can't even explain your own position as it relates to the Southland Conference so the standard response becomes the typical chest thumping/pissing match. Save that for the smack board. PV's athletics facilities upgrades are moving along and they will make the SWAC's best campus even more nice.
As I said before, the SWAC is the perfect example of the tail wagging the dog, but for whatever reasons, you refuse to see it, which is beyond stupidity. No college should be winning any championship playing in facilities that would be considered sub-standard at the high school level.
3K is low for homecoming. I am hoping that is a misprint, Alcorn.
I thought the State Fair Classic Averages more than 30K there? Weather may have been a factor.
Alcorn's attendance numbers have been off the last two games. Not sure what method is used to count attendance but it's not based off of the turnstile count.
I agree. And your school (with its better attendance and facilities) had every opportunity to prevent that from happening so.......
Again, I ask "what does PV's facilities have to do with any of this?"
The State Fair Classic has been losing numbers based on all the circus acts that the promoter had been using at the game. It ran to a head a few years ago and that has kept the fans away. The promoter has backed off from all of that crap but the word has got to get out for the fans to return.
