Swac Basketball - Week 3

SU Defense was off the charts. SU still isn't at full strength as the starting pg is out, but the back up is playing great.

 C-Bo is always everywhere on the court. The only thing with him is that sometimes he is afraid to shoot. It's good to see #23 finally break out of his slump. He will be the X-Factor.

Most of the fans I talked to are going to the tournament in Garland. It should be a great showing from the Nation in March.

Is there a host hotel(s) for the SWAC Tournament. I have been searching and the hotels near the arena are not showing any love.

Sold out crowd. I wonder will anyone else sale out besides the next Bama St /A&M game in Montgomery?
A&M 64
Bama St 57 men final

Not bad. Let's hope the students get on board in big numbers. Still remember sitting in the aisle of the gold section for the Alcorn game back in the '80s. :smug:

That's when Southern used to average 4,000 to 5,000 per game and a packed house (7,000 to 8,000) for Grambling and teams with a good record. M-9 Section used to be rocking.

Yep. Then heading over to Churches after the game to get a 2-piece with pepper and a Strawberry soda. Those were the days! :D

man they could have had a reality show at that churches  , just set up a camera and let it run. Use to be the busiest churches in the country. Back during my time on the yard, Scotlandville / SU use to be the center of all activities for black college students and teens in BR, thanks Colemans mini market :) . One time after a SU game had to be 30-40 people waiting for chicken at churches, the dude frying the chicken said f it I need a drink. Dude just walked out went to P&S and came back inside drinking a 40. Dude proceeded o go back to frying chicken. Everybody fell out laughing.

They trying but they need some direction lol.

Does anybody have any pictures from those days? All my yearbooks are in storage in Louisiana at my parent’s house. I could remember when jokers used to come to the game with different costumes on. There were a few wearing bed sheets as superman.
