Swac Basketball Feb 4-6





Dam Swac refs......They gave the ball to the wrong team for the 3rd qtr. The official scorekeeper called them over about 10 seconds intoit and told them they gave it to the rong team. They just ignored what he said and continued to let the wrong team have the possession. It was a correctable error since neither team had scored or committed any fouls.
 
Is that all? No more comments on basketball? No we got some monsters on the board? No one can hold our guards? Our bigs are the best in the SWAC? Our coach is the best in the SWAC? We got the leading scorer in the SWAC/ Blah blah blah blah blah?

Crickets...crickets...crickets

How in the HELL do you not FOUL and send Valley to the free throw line in that game situation? Even if they hit both shots, you still get the last possession and a chance at overtime!

This is proof that Hayes cannot manage a game. Period! Our problem is not finances or facilities. That is PISS poor coaching and game management

Foul and send to the line? The game was tied up, why would you foul on a tied up game?

That is not a correctable error. It WAS wrong, but once the ball became live, it was not something they could correct.
 
Let me correct that (the ref in me coming out)....The ball became "live" when the official handed it to the player for the throw in. The mistake can be corrected at that point. Once the throw in is completed (when the ball touches another legal player inbounds), then there's nothing else that can be done. The arrow will now favor the other team (who SHOULD have gotten the ball in the first place). If you catch it before it happens, make it right. Once it occurs, nothing you can do.
