Swac Basketball 2/5-2/7/22

Valley and these close losses. Lindsey has them so close. Losing 3 to graduation I believe so he can make 1-2 tweaks to the roster and we will be there next year. If Carpenter comes back along with the mid major/JUCO transfers that have committed, we might be a sleeper pick to win next year

it's the gym at Cookman - that's old SWAC

BCU gets hot in there its lights out - everyone who had those gyms not many has had the same success when they moved into the palatial palaces

BCU’s gym reminds me of gyms during segregation with that a stage….which was a makeshift auditorium

I think you're 100% on this one!! I know I was surprised when I saw some of our Lady Tigers' best shooters throwing up air balls in that gym! Later I attributed it to a depth perception issue!!

Never thought about this but you might have a point lol

Valley used to pack out the Old New Gym with JSU and Alcorn and it was a beautiful sight but if you have a warm winter day, it would get as hot as Hades off in there lol

The atmosphere JUST started to come back with these last two games because it's been missing since 2017

Ain't that the truth. But, times change. You must move on from those old gyms, I get it. But, the atmosphere is just not the same in these newer arenas.

TSU had a couple of barnburners against PV and SU that had the crowd and the atmosphere that was even close to Adams Gym. . Mama Jag was strutting. We had the guy that wore chrome spinner hubcaps as his shirt. it was wild.

if you can get bodies in there on a consistent basis the new places have it but the old places didn't need many bodies to make an impact which helped campuses with small enrollments plus community support -

Sadly, alot of campuses still rely on the elder group for basketball as this new generation doesn't value games as social events

TSU-PV in Houston with only 75% attendance is a different atmosphere - you get past that point its another level. 10K causes the AC to break down and the floor to sweat lol

Is that Shedeur in the stands with his hands over his ears?
