SWAC Basketball 12/15-12/21/2014

SCSU beat UH today 71 to 63

[Quietstorm]

I would hope that a win at Michigan State would keep Texas Southern out of a play-in game if they win the SWAC Tournament

Me too Great OOC win Txsu on a nationally televised game!

[PsychoJag]

Great win TxSU

[Devil's Gun Trigger Man]

SWAC.....SWAC....SWAC.....SWAC......SWAC.......SWAC.......

Based on today's results, I guess the Coogs won't schedule TSU in the near future. The match-up would put butts in the seats.

Not really. We played them at Hoffienz a few years ago. Maybe 1,000.

Houston college basketball has hit rock bottom some time ago.

Coach Mike Davis on TSU's 71-64 OT upset @#25 Mich.St: "It's my 2nd biggest win since beating Duke (w/Indiana) to go to the Elite 8 in 2002"

That game was played during the Christmas break.

Davis' first season. Took UH to overtime. We should have won it in regulation.

We always play UH well. Beat them a few times and others lost in OT.it wouldn't benefit them to play us.

I have To watch the reply on espn3

[Dynamite]

Michigan State paid Texas Southern $95,000 for today's game. MSU lost to the 24-point underdog in OT today

[Jag-BR]

Wow. Congrats TxSU.

[bernard]

It's a final....In OverTime

TxSU 71
25 MSU 64

Wow! That win means the SWAC will not be playing in the NCAA's play-in game in Dayton in 2015!

Texas Southern's 71-64 upset of #25 Michigan St., is TSU men's team first win over a Top-25 team since beating #16 Minnesota 71-50 in 1994.

I was on the road in Mississippi when I found out about that win. It was one of the top stories on the USAToday sport's page.

[East Tex Tiger]

Kevin Granger is still banned from entering Minnesota.

[Olde Hornet]

TSU shot high percentage shots in overtime, great coaching, great games.

[stroke]

The Key to this win
1. TSU never relied on taking a dump truck full of threes
2. They didn't turn the ball over
3. They made good shot selections
4. Hit free throws.

It Kills me that Izzo Blamed the Lost on them overlooking the Game.
If TSU can take this into Auburn and finish the OOC schedule strong they will be in good shape.
I don't think Michigan State lose much more after this
