GRAMBLING ? Southern University baseball coach Roger Cador got the best of his former pupil in Grambling coach Barret Rey as the Jaguars swept the Tigers in a Southwestern Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at the Tiger Baseball Stadium.

The first contest came down to the wire as Southern scored in the top of the seventh to claim a 6-5 victory.

The Jaguars hit four home runs and got a solid outing from Jarrett Maloy in his first collegiate start to pick up an 8-1 win in the second game.

?This was a rivalry game as well as an emotional game with coach Rey having played under me and coached with me,? Cador said. ?You?ll take the win any time you can.?

GSU could never put much offense together....they had their chances to cause some damage but would hit inning ending outs to the infield.

Pitching is GSU's priority next season as the 9-inning game have been rough on them this season.
