We were losing 12-0 and we made it a helluva game. The tourney is going to be interesting with all the teams from the west. This is the year, where if we had all 10 teams in the tourny it would be amazing.
With 10 teams in the tourny that would make for some sloppy baseball. I would rather a 4 team tourny where you are guaranteed great pitching.

That year we won the tourny it was only four teams and who knows what would've happened if Alcorn or PV would've been in it that year. All the teams are becoming more compitive and I think it would give anyone a chance to win besides TSU, PV, and SU.

Hey GSU fans, can you find out how your 3rd baseman is doing? He took a hard bad hop ground ball to the face, and he went right down..I was happy to see him get up and walk off the field..But that ball took a bad hop..

Why do you guys keep throwing TSU in there when all said and done you have 7 conference wins. PV and SU will be tough in the tourney TSU or whoever is the third place team will just be the first team to go home. PV and SU are the good teams. Everyone else is just fighting for 3rd place are we passing out moral victories for being down 12-0.

The four game tournament is just a bad idea in a 6 game tourney you have to win 4 games if you can't win 4 games then you don't need to be going to a regional any ways

A bad Hop on Lee-Hines field I am not believing this I am blaming the kids glove on that ...................Had to get you SUjagtillIdie

Don't be fooled by the 7 wins. TSU is probably the scariest team in west because you don't know what your going to get. Its that inconsistentcy that I would be worried about. I bet you Cador and Robertson (PV) would say that you can expect just to go out and beat TSU even though their record could indicate. Hell yeah I'm going to pass out a moral victory to a team that was down 12-0 in the 5th inning. Most teams would've packed it in...

TSU actually has the most talent in the conference.   They just never seem to put it together.

The kid hit a rocket and the ball bounced and hit Gram's 3rd baseman in the face. Don't try to blame it on the infield. How was your attendence this weekend.

I remember hearing Cador saying that a while ago. Good coaching has a big factor in determing how kids play because of the preparation. That's something we all know and if all our teams had MLB coaches, I believe our conference would be unreal. As far as the hitting and defensive aspect. Pitching, that's another story...

Let me say this, Coach Rey is doing an outstanding job @ Gram. They really don't have to much. Very Scrappy team. Very, very, very fast.

Game over
PVU wins 15-14

The swac is getting better. These teams pushing SU and Pvu will only make them stronger when it is regional time.

This was very sloppy game with TSU commiting 5 errors and PV commiting 8. The inning where TSU got most of their runs, the shortstop had 3 only. PV is not playing the way they were in the beginning of the season and need to get that edge back by tourny time if they expect to win.

Hey I wasn't there I just had to keep ya on your toes. It's cool Yeah we had a nice crowd all the games probably about 200 to 250 per game we can't compare to the 1000 you guys bring every game but it was packed in the stands and on the hill we getting W's the fans will eventually come were on ESPN next weekend check us out if your free

Newboy a lot of times I hear people complain about Candy's coaching style or lack there of why has TSU kept him so long I know the champion kept him in good standing but it seems he is missing out on not being able to get the kids to come to Houston is it him or the dept just not backing him wher he can get the kids

I'll tell you this, TSU's Baseball coaches combined are probably the lowest paid coaches in D-1, but that doesn't have anything to do with performnace. That's probably why he's been around for so long and plus we have been competing over the past few years.

There's no probably to it. Candy's salary is a disgrace.

Southern catcher Taylor Spriggs, right, is congratulated by teammates after hitting a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at 9. The Jaguars went on to win the back-and-forth game 14-12.

While Sunday?s series finale might not have carried the same weight as the annual Bayou Classic between Southern University and Grambling, the Jaguars? 14-12 victory to win the series against the Tigers had all the excitement.

After Southern (21-13, 14-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference Western Division) squandered a four-run lead in Grambling?s 9-6 win in the second game of Saturday?s doubleheader, the Jaguars blew a six-run advantage Sunday before scoring five runs in the eighth inning to secure the win.

?I can?t anticipate anything but hopefully 70 years of life and death at the end of it,? Southern coach Roger Cador said. ?I don?t want to say that we died and went to hell, but we gave up 15 hits and committed three errors.

?We were extremely fortunate to win this game.?
