Yea they won. But we are still in first place. Still own the head to head 4-2(Swac games) 4-3(when you include the game in LA that doesnt count in the SWAC standings). Nothing wrong with losing to a good team. Gram played great, SU didnt but still had a chance to win all three.

The Southern baseball team had won 13 of 15 games heading into this weekend’s series against Grambling at Lee-Hines Field. By Sunday afternoon, the Tigers headed back to north Louisiana with two victories and a little momentum. The Jaguars, if nothing else, might have gained a better understanding of themselves with a month to go before the SWAC tournament in Shreveport.

Got to listen to Coach Coopers Radio Show this morning while on planning period and though he's happy to get the series win this weekend he said the team really wanted the sweep and could have got it due to the team controlling the games this week but the pitchers getting to relaxed and allowing SU back in the games. He is working them even more and he says the teams confidence is really up and they are ready to work hard to get another Championship. This is a young team and they are on it, we should be set for years. We only have one senior graduating that's in the starting line up. Have a helluva transfer already on camps that didn't get to play this season and a nice recruiting class who mainly are pitchers who can play other positions from what Cooper spoke about this morning.

A dummy probably. The basketball team is back also, have a St Johns University transfer already on campus that's a 3 star player, a couple of other D1 transfers and recruits.

Don't count on it....S.U. has loss several good underclassman to the Pros. Hell we loss an All American catcher a couple of years ago and I think he was a freshman. :lol: :emlaugh:
 
Exactly, this isn't like football or basketball where your good players are going to stay 4 years.
Baseball players leave all the time, so you can't bank on having experience.

It's easier for SU to get players in the pros right now due to Cador's rep and connections but let me rephrase what i said, with Gods good graces we should be in a good position for a while lol.
 



There you go, and you can't forget how we have had our bouts with injuries so you have to look out for that too.

Injuries are apart of the game and most times beyond control. We have been fortunate to be healthy this year and last year and i pray we continue to go down that path.

Long as they stay at Gram they will be there til there Jr's. I know we are going through a lot of the same growing pains and the class we have signed so far should be pretty good. Just gotta get the guys to get better each year. We dont loose a position player and loose two arms unless Drains is drafted which he should but its a lot there to build on in Jackson

They still have to sit out a year, it's not like football where they can play immediately because they moved down a division. We're all D1 in basketball.......

Who from last years team did SU lose to the Pro's? Anything past that is mute since players that go to college has to stay at least 2 years to become eligible for the draft after high school.

He's been at Grambling since January, he is eligible to play next season. He graduates from Grambling in May and then will enter in a grad program at Grambling, he has his head on str8.

I thought it was me trying o figure out what freshmen hey lost in the draft. Now if he he left and went to a JUCO and was drafted he wasnt a southern kid

Four-Year College Transfers
Basketball student-athletes transferring from four-year colleges to four-year colleges are not eligible for intercollegiate basketball competition until they have met the residence requirement at the new school.

Residence Requirement
Unless an exception is met, all transfer student-athletes must meet the "residence requirement" to be eligible to compete in intercollegiate basketball. The residence requirement stipulates that a student must be enrolled in and complete a minimum number of full-time credits for two semesters or three quarters, or at least enroll in and pass the minimum number of full-time credits for two semesters or three quarters. Summer terms do not count as semesters, but can contribute to the credit requirement
