Southern hosts rival Grambling

To this point, his pitchers are inconsistent, his defense struggles with routine plays and his offense reminds no one of the ’98 Yankees.

Yet this weekend at Lee-Hines Field, the sun will shine, the skies will offer an endless supply of blue and Southern University baseball coach Roger Cador promises to wear, among other things, a wide, toothy grin.

It’s always special when the Jaguars face Grambling, he said, and aside from school pride, the two Southwestern Athletic Conference archrivals have plenty else to play for. With five series to go in Western Division play, Southern (9-12, 6-3) is tied with Texas Southern for first place. Grambling (10-15, 5-4) is one game behind them.

PV-stu game was moved to 4pm with 1 game today and 2 tomorrow.

Now they are talking about a 3:00 start with 2 games today.

I still don't understand how they couldn't start earlier (on time). My son's JV game started at 11:00 and their Varsity game started at 2:15. We got the same weather they did. I guess our field crew (coaches) was better at getting the fields together for the game vs the City of Houston park crews.

Strong just annouced it on his radio broadcast also as 1 game today and 2 tomoorow. I may try to get out there for that 1st game tomorrow.

I know, I've already notified him to get that confirmed. I'm going to be pissed if I drive out there today and there's no second game.
