Swac baseball. You gotta love it.

It amazes me how our teams can play so well one game then the next game look like they shouldn't be playing D-1 baseball. I think that's the most interesting part along with watching these guys run like gazelles.

Its so fun watching swac ball because if you watch professional they play like robots. You can tell those guys (Swac) are having fun.

When I played, I loved the competitvness/intensity displayed during conference games. I loved all the smack talking between the teams, even though I didn't participate in that. I came from a Junior College where we handled ourselves like professionals (our coach was a minor league coach for a number of years, black guy too) and didn't do all that Rah Rah type stuff. But those games were boring and lacked intensity.

I will always love watching Swac games.

How many other conferences do you know that a team can be winning 10-3 in the 2nd to last inning and they can end up loosing the game.

Or how many other conferences do you know that a team can be winning 12-1 in the 5th inning of a 7 inning game and still loose.

That's the excitement, the game is never over.

Southern splits with Grambling

Published: Mar 23, 2008 - UPDATED: 12:05 a.m.
GRAMBLING ? Southern pitcher Jarrett Maloy gave up just four hits in going the distance to help the Jaguars salvage a split of a Southwestern Athletic Conference doubleheader with Grambling State on Saturday.

Southern took the nightcap, 3-1, behind Maloy?s solid pitching performance. In seven innings of work, he struck out six while walking just one.

Grambling scored all of its runs in the third inning of the first game to take a 5-4 win in the opener of the three-game SWAC West series.

The two teams will play the rubber game at 1 p.m. today with Southern coach Roger Cador sending right-hander Cody Elliott to the mound.

band fan,

Ain't this nice. Not a Jag to be found. They scarcer than "Hen's Teeth". around here. They must still be in shock. Coach Rey takes 2 of 3 from Cador. GSU No.1 in the west.

Where's the game story?
