This years tourney seems to be evenly matched from top to bottom!!! I.M.O., Alcorn is the favorite.....but not by much. 4th seed tSU brings back many players from last year and their coach has a number of tourney experience. Even though they didn't fare well against the Mississippi schools, Bama State probably has the most experience club in the tourney. It will be interesting.

Our seeding isn't done yet..AAMU still has a chance to make tourney if they win 2 of 3 against us. With our team you never know the type of play you'll get although i look for us to take the sweep

Not according to the SWAC press release. Our series with them only determines if we are the #2 or #3 seed. If they sweep up, we are #3. If we sweep them, we are #2. :lol:

They (AAMU) control their destiny. If they Sweep us or win the series against us they will be the Number 4 seed TP and bama state will be eliminated from making tourney. So no they arent just playing for OUR seeding they are playing to Make tourney.

They better -- or else they'll end up like Valley in 2004. Baseball is a game that you never know.
Hell, Rice threw their number 1 against us in 2004 for the exact same reason and we beat him. Dude was the #3 pick in the league that year and that just shows you that you never know what can happen.

. I guess it will depend on matchups. Last season it burned SU pitching down against Alcorn, but in the previous seasons they have gotten away with it. Last season they almost pitched their way out the losers bracket, but ran into Rey again lol.

As Texas Southern coach Michael Robertson emerged from a postgame huddle Sunday at Lee-Hines Field, he carried three things — his trademark slow-motion stroll, two weekend victories under his belt and the kind of grin money can’t buy.
This, Robertson concluded, had been a nice trip to Baton Rouge.
It wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t have to be. It simply served as affirmation that the Tigers can compete with, and defeat, any opponent they face in the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament.
Sunday afternoon, TSU scored four runs in the sixth inning and got a standout performance from starting pitcher Abel Flores en route to a 5-3 victory — one that gave the Tigers two wins over Southern on the final weekend of conference play.

When we start sending 4 teams to the baseball tourney? No team from BAMA deserves to be there.
Anything can happen. I don't expect them to take a series from you guys. Who does J-State want in the 1st round? Grambling or PV?????

I dont expect them to either but like you say anything can happen. I think we will lock up the number 2 seed and battle PV. I haven't paid enough attention to PV though so I cant say as far as who I want us to have in the first round. But i will say we struggle against teams that can hit (even though our pitching is good) especially since some games it seem like our guys forget how to bat and with the team being so young.
