SWAC BASEBALL 3/3 – 3/8

SWAC teams, from freshmen to seniors, need to work on their defense. Too many errors are a top reason for OOC losses. We can get away with it (sometimes) in conference, but it doesn’t work so much OOC.

And that includes all the “free bases” given up by pitchers.

Are they the best on the team?

or were y'all conceding the game before it even started by playing all these freshmen and using that as a excuse.

We started 5 against y’all last SUnday and won 20-0 lmao. SU has injuries, but some had won positions opening day. 661DF08E-3F5F-4122-9645-D16B53A23D90.png661DF08E-3F5F-4122-9645-D16B53A23D90.png

Can you just answer the question?
I know we got a terrible team.
Out of the 6 that started,
1 has started every game.

The catcher rotated games with Nelson. Now that Nelson is out, he will assume every game duties.

the remaining 4 have played in nearly every game. In some cases they were the starters, in others they were the relievers.

In the end, the are talented enough to be out there.
Good enough to start. Good enough to replace a juco or jr. So, they need to execute like collegiate student athletes.

Look, I tried to be quiet but can't. No one gives a shit if S.U. started 5 or 6 freshmen. We got our asses handed to us. Too many errors and unclean baseball all three days. We have to play better ball consistently. Sometimes one has to take the L and look at things constructively. I believe we will have some challenges in winning the conference this year. Jackson State and Alabama State are playing better at this point in the season. However, we'll see what happens. I believe this team is good and will get better (there is certainly room too). This was a very good series to point out our deficiencies and illuminate what we need to work on. I am hoping our Ace (Finney) will come back soon. That should add more depth to our pitching staff.
