NEW ORLEANS, La. – The annual Southwestern Athletic Conference Spring Meetings concluded Thursday in New Orleans as Commissioner Duer Sharp and staff hosted the league’s Council of Presidents and Chancellors, Athletics Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Faculty Athletics Representatives, Director of Bands and various corporate partners for its 10 member institutions and the upcoming 2015-16 season.

The meetings launched on Tuesday with administrators discussing key topics, including the all new Celebration Bowl, gender equity, scheduling, revenue distribution and strategic planning

The conference approved a new seven game conference football schedule starting with the 2017 season. The league’s current format is a nine game schedule.

The SWAC Baseball regular season series will now be a Friday, Saturday and Sunday format migrating from the Saturday/Sunday layout. This goes into effect for the 2016 season.

Looks like a lot of people got their wish. The AD's will have to step up and find other schools to schedule for the upcoming football seasons.

*ring!* *ring!* Langston University?
*ring!* *ring!* Texas College?
*ring!* *ring!* College of Faith?
*ring!* *ring!* Virginia-Lynchburg University?

worst mistake ever.... but glad it happened so it will give people on here LESS to complain about..... watch what I tell you... no people will complain about the two teams picked to play from the other side.... others will see how horrible their ADs actually are and will end up playing the Texas Colleges of the world.

Cosign.

If you call on the SWAC gods, they'll answer. Amen. Now we can have two money games and hopefully we'll use this opportunity to challenge fcs foes.

As I said before, the Texas schools will roll the Bama schools, Valley and/or Alcorn off the schedule and the Bama schools will roll the Texas schools and UAPB off theirs for sure. The fun begins when JSU, GSU and SU won't roll each other off their schedules...

Now all those that thirst for match ups against more FCS PWCs your ADs will get the chance to schedule them in two years. If you get 4 (and in some years FIVE) chances to make out a good schedule and your AD has Concordia, Faith AND Lynchburg on the same schedule then you will know if your AD is really putting in work or just collecting a check. I would also feel the same way if an AD takes 4 money games a la Savannah State.

The internet ADs on here won't be satisfied no matter what lol. A good schedule would be 2 FCS schools (including a MEAC school), a money game and a low level game or two money games

See it's people like this (and I love you BFF) that makes this a bad idea... Why do you want to schedule TWO azz whoopins? is that even fair to the coaches and the players?

JSU aint taking off Grambling or Southern..... so they are actually only picking up one OOC game right?

JSU normally keeps UAPB since it's a short drive. We normally drop TxSo and PV when allowed. When the year comes that PV, TxSo and UAPB are our assigned opponents, we will play a 9 game SWAC schedule... lol

I'm glad this finally happened. There are PLENTY of opportunities for Prairie View A&M to establish home-and-home series with regional FCS universities especially with the addition of our new stadium in 2016. Couple that in with at least one FBS university per year and you're set! This is great news!

Says the school that only schedules 9 and 10 games when 9 games are already scheduled for you... LOL

I'm pleased with the 7 game decision.
Doesn't matter to me if people on this board complain about the 9game mandate or if some complain about the 7game mandate. I don't care about the co-signers either. Lol
All i care about is JSU. That's all that matters to me and to most to be honest.
