The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced the adoption of new basketball tournament formats that will debut beginning with the 2027 SWAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments

Yeah, I can see #1 and #2 seeds playing in the quarterfinals instead of starting in the semis.

Stacking the deck and punishing everyone else is not the answer

again - being the top seed is pretty much meaningless now - why play a regular season and bust your butt for the same benefit as a bottom seed? If that was the case, might as well rest your guys until midway to get tournament ready

at least now there's a benefit to winning - hope this applies to all sports
