SWAC 2014 Baseball Championship

I picked A&M and Bama State for the championship game. I did not seriously consider JSU because they were swept by both of those teams during the late part of the season. Congrats.

UHHHH, yes they do. Their APR scores are low, their president is fighting against their board members, and their football stadium will not be filled anytime soon since Crowell left.

And that's just the beginning.

JSU waited for the right time to get it's revenge on both schools for what you did in the regular season.:lol:

And JSU has not problems going on??? Obviously the two best teams played a great game today that could have went either way. JSU was the better team today

As quiet as it was kept, jsu had a 30 win season. Their conference record was deceptive and actually won several decent non conference games. Bama State finished at 37-20 and jsu finised at 31-23. Really overall, it wasn't that big of a difference. However, Bama State won a couple of marquee matchups that caught folks attention (Miami & Auburn).

Just something about JSU's focus when they play the Bama schools for top dog status. First football, now baseball....two straight years.

I wonder did they recruit their women or just the guys from D.R? It'll be ashamed if they went ALL the way down there and didn't bring any of those women back with them. And all they brought back was the guys who lost to us. That's got to be depressing.
 
JACKSON STATE 2014 SWAC Baseball Champs




NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Jackson State baseball team won its second straight and 16th overall Southwestern Athletic Conference championship with a 9-8 victory over Alabama State Sunday evening at MBL Youth Academy at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, La.

The Tigers and the Hornets squared off for the seventh time this season and while ASU held a 5-1 regular season edge, JSU held on to win the league crown. After five innings, the Hornets held a 6-5 advantage over the Tigers. JSU scored three runs to take an 8-6 lead and added an insurance run in the eighth to secure the victory.

Congrats, J State! Yes, it is hard to win the swac baseball tournament, but J State deserved it. J State better thank Miss St and Ole Miss for donating them that good sec equipment after their bus burned down. Maybe everyone bus need to burn down, lol....

Would be interesting if we had to play one of them during the baseball regionals.
I've never seen JSU hit like this since I've been watching JSU baseball. A lot of this probably had to do with quality equipment as well as being more focus after the accident.

Ole Miss is most likely hosting. If you all meet one of them, it will probably be MSU at the ULL regional. If LSU gets a regional, it's possible that JSU would be sent there again and won't see either.

They going to UL Lafayette book it. They probably will have the lowest RPI in the tournament. They will me matched against the higher seed out of LSU and UL which right now looks like UL. The Tigue will be packed regardless.
