SU's Menard, LSU's Dural rescure woman trapped in SUV

Journalist

Listen up maggots! And that's an order!
Although nobody from The Advocate, at this time, sought to seek comment from Menard ... http://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/13162696-123/lsu-wr-travin-dural-rescues

Dural, while leaving his Breaux Bridge home, passed an overturned SUV at about 10 p.m. July 30. A woman had swerved off Zin Zin Road, and her Nissan SUV landed upside down in a waterless ditch. Both front doors were jammed. The driver’s side door was crushed against the side wall of the 6-foot-deep trench.

She was hanging upside down from the driver’s seat, incapable of reaching or opening the back doors, said Michael McQuade, a St. Martin Sheriff deputy who was one of the first on the scene.

“She was trapped in the vehicle,” McQuade said.

Dural, along with his cousin, Southern receiver Randall Menard, pried open the rear passenger door and pulled out the woman from the vehicle, McQuade said.

1. I apologize for not spelling rescue right. I was rushing to post this.

2. I was out and about when I read the story earlier. Bruh, they buried the fact that Menard was with him like all the way down the story. Like Randall was just watching his cousin do the work. They did some rewriting, but nobody bothered to get something from Menard.

Lord ya'll know ya'll a trip...Way to go to both guys in rescuing the damsel in distress teamwork...real talk!

I guess none of the officers recognized the Southern guy by the way who is he...snickering!

Good job to both of the guys. It's a shame that the media singled out one players as the headliner but as my father told me..."man may not recognize your good deeds but the supreme being always takes note."

I'm proud of these guys!!

From what I've been told ... Dural spotted the vehicle first, and Menard said both of them were hesitant to go check at first because they were afraid they were going to see a dead body in that SUV. The woman was in there stuck upside down, and the boys went through the back hatch to get to her and free her.

Apparently whoever this Travin Dural dude is, he can't be all that because:

McQuade and other deputies arrived shortly after Dural’s heroics, and a few of them recognized Dural as the Tigers’ star wideout. Several of them began taking photos with a player who led LSU in receptions and yards last season.

“They said, ‘You don’t know who that is?’ ” said McQuade, a self-proclaimed LSU fan who didn’t recognize Dural.

the sheriff, who's an alleged "self-proclaimed LSU fan" didn't recognize dude either. But I'm almost sure he and the other fine officers of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Department all immediately recognized the many LSU football players from news coverage that have been arrested and/or kicked off the team due to their "heroic" actions during the off seasons.

:eek::eek::eek: Blaaaaah!

And this is the REALITY of it all.....

Heck you can tell by the way it was written that they didn't really want to include in him the story but knew it would have been a huge backlash if they left him out and folks found out that they left him out. lol

This is the link my daughter sent me yesterday:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf...verturned-vehicle-143404550.html?sf11926943=1

What's really disgusting in this link and the one above is how The Advocate and the contributor to Yahoo Sports didn't try to hide that they didn't want to recognize Southern's Randall Menard. But it's understanding on the part of The Advocate; with all the bad press LSU has supplied them over the past few years, most of it about the football players, The Advocate was so relieved to finally provide something good and jumped on this. Southern University, however, and its alumni and students are doing a much better job making sure their name continues to get national attention by posting Randall Menard's selfless act. I wouldn't be surprised if he received a Young Humanitarian award from Southern. The SU fam is also doing a good job putting The Advocate on blast for their poorly written article.

It's always good to read or see our young Black men recognized for good things; it's even better when it's HBCU/SWAC family. Both young men are to be commended!:)
