QB biggest question mark as Jackson State football starts practice


Not long after being promoted to offensive coordinator, Jackson State assistant coach Derrick McCall stated his plans for the Tigers' offense this season.

In short, he wanted to keep the train moving.

"Offensively, our job is to score points," McCall said. "We want to do it in a way that has never been done before. I want to be better than we were last year.

So Coach Comegy has 7 starters coming back on offense. What positions? I know one is QB. That article has a lot pessimism in it. Hell, with 7 starters coming back I would be full of optimism.

The Defense will be the solid im kinda worried about the secondary but thats it....We have alot of guys who received a ton of playing time last season...Also alot of guys want to dog Comegy because he brings in transfers but he usually only brings in 1 or 2 a season and most of the time he isn't actively recruiting these guys to come in...We have alot of guys who are juniors or seniors that have been playing since their freshman year...Comegy usually doesnt discriminate if u are a freshman who can play u will play!
 



If DMac were to start he would be the best qb in the SWAC. The pickings are very slim across the conference but DMac can get the job done. I'm pulling for him to be the starter. Right now we have too many damn qbs on the roster ...you can't even practice adequately with 6 qbs trying. I'm sure Comegy will have that cut down to 3 real soon. There are a bunch of other SWAC schools that can use a qb really bad...Grambling PV and Alcorn come to mind.
 
If a team have 6 or 7 QB(s) conventional wisdom tells one that they don't have any. However, this is the worse kept secret in the SWAC.

Dude we still should've dropped 50 on them. Wilson was terrible. There was nothing stopping us from scoring at will. 34 points just doesn't do us justice in that game. AandM just ain't on our level. They looked like a bunch of high-school kids running around out there.

Jsu should just run the wild cat formation on every down and just throw a few wrinkles in. Yes, it might get negative press and even make Sports Center but the former will happen anyway.

This season is about to be legendary. Once Ivy or Moore settles in at QB, we will take off. Oh, and D-Mac needs to play against Ms State so he can take the major hits.
