Jayrob is so blind he has not realized they haven't been beating SU in much the last couple of year. Let him remain clueless

He's not as blind as most think. Maybe a little mentally unstable but not blind. Personally I think he's fearful of the inevitable and obsessed.

Good deal!! I have a feeling we're gonna be back to kicking arse in everything AGAIN.

those days are long over...the Texas neglect allowed that but once Texas schools came back into the fold things have changed next door

With more budget cuts looming over there and a surplus here, what else can Louisiana cut?

Sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

I don't know tbf. The Texas schools don't have but 1 legitimate SWAC SCG title in 14 years, 1 SWAC Men Tourney Championship in 15 years. Texas only owns 1 overall commissioner cup since it was implemented. You have "interesting" vision. :emlaugh:

There is no surplus in Texas.... But even if there were, don't you always harp on the fact that the state doesn't allow y'all to spend their funds on athletics? Lol

JROCK...you sure forget to mention the baseball titles, track titles, women's basketball success, etc....your football decline has been at the expense of texas...right?

The presidents control the spending as the school budgets are more than ample. There have not been furloughs, etc...alot of raises the Louisiana coaches have received was based on what they found out some coaches in texas were making.

I would say S.U. football woes started in 2005 with population issues in New Orleans due to the storm and magnified with a bad hire of Stump Mitchell. I'm pretty sure that the state of Texas had nothing to do with it. But in spite of the little you have achieved with any economic issue that involves Louisiana or any other state, the fact remains in the two largest revenue sports Texas hasn't produced but 1 football championship, 1 NCAA Tourney bid in years (see above). The Commissioner Cups signifies athletic excellence and the state of Texas has only one of those since it's inception. That tells me sure you all have isolated wins, but as a rule of thumb, your overall athletic departments are still consistently inferior. I agree Texas is slightly more competitive here and there compared to in the past. Since 2000 here is what the facts show relating to athletic department (Commissioner Cup Championships) superiority:

Louisiana 6
Mississippi 5
Texas 1

Look at the attacks on folks who are merely telling the truth. Jindal has rendered su almost toothless with the cuts in funding, yet they magically think they'll be able to recover as if nothing happened? Now THAT'S wishful thinking.

At the rate Grambling sports and su sports are headed, Louisiana won't be getting a cup for quite sometime.

Now getting back to your tennis post. Does su have a men's tennis team?

Dude...jindal been cutting since he took office...he's on his 2nd term now....Dont know if u heard...but SU made it through the storm by preparing for cuts worst than what's on paper...yeah it hurt us a little...but we don't roll over on our backs at SU...We find ways to get the job done....And if u pay attention to our AD you will see he don't leave money and opportunities just sitting around.

You just stated in so many words one reason why su will not be winning commissioners cups like they did in the past. A second reason is that more SWAC schools have increased their participation in other sports when they couldn't in the past.
Some forget the fact that when su was winning the cups in the past, most SWAC schools weren't able to field teams in most sports. That's changed and it's leveled the playing field. On the other hand, instead of increasing sports, su has been forced to cut sports teams.
Now my question again as it relates to tennis.....does su have a men's tennis team?

I live here bruh. I know that surplus is smoke and mirrors.

Has JSU beaten SU in a men's sport this school year?

Nuff said.. That dude spends entirely to much time thinking about SU. Maybe he has a file in the head labeled I wish I could have gone to Southern University.. Or a jump drive he puts in his neck, labeled SU my first, my last, my everything!!!
