Why does a good hbcu rivalry have to be turned into a"classic" football game. That dilutes the intensity. If anything, the su year should be moved to the Superdome. Just leave it be. We really don't have anything left in the swac that's consistent when it comes to a "true" college football atmosphere. Those "classics" don't count. All they do is attract more people who are trying to find an evnt to get out of the house.

Hell NO! New Orleans doesn't need to get anymore of Southern's money and the way this state is treating Southern right now, I wouldn't do it any damn favors. That damn game should be in Mumford Stadium, helping the surrounding community and no where else. You don't wanna come .... who gives a damn. As long as 25 to 27,000 people fill it up, I don't really care where they are from.

The other part of southside I know, near the railroad tracks just a hair away from the campus doesn't have nice big houses with a lake surrounding them. Polk Streets, Buchannon, the streets with the names of the states, and etc. thats the part he obviously didn't see.

Hey hold up a minute, we are all in the boat, it 's o.k. to smack but let's reframe from talking about other schools dropping sports. If SU is dropping a sport it's for the better of the athletic department. Remember this country is in a recession and so are schools and every other organization. Jindal needs to go and I know why he rejected some of that stimulus money. He wants to please somebody (republicans) for a future favor. JINDAL MUST GO
 
Southern U. is already a classic. Thus playing in the BC is enough. We need no classic label to be the most visible program in the FCS....

Scotland catches a rap from some of these folk because of it's past....nowadays it's really mostly a quiet and subdued area. Things that happen in Scotlandville during game days and such is usually from those who have come from outside of Scotlandville.

The South Baton Rouge area has activity...all types of activity...at all times. However it's not as violent and crime ridden as the area South of LSU in Gardere. MB has ventured into the bottom at night before...but I ain't cfuking around in Gardere at 12 noon with a police escort. Not me!!!!!

Back to Topic: Yall do how yall think best, but if I was the AD at either school there's no way I would move a sellout home game anywhere...especially when the game counts in the standings. A trip to Birnmingham to win it all would be my most urgent consideration. I understand generating revenue, but I would make it up in other ways besides moving a key conference game to the opponents stadium.

In years that it's not a conference game (and depending on where it falls on the schedule)...work together to move it a "neutral" site where both schools have a heavy alumni base. Off the top, Chicago sounds appealing but that's a nice distance. Maybe the ATL or closer still... Shreveport one year and Memphis the next to make it somewhat regional and "home based".

Too bad Mississippi only has one "City" (Had to get my Sippi smack in... :lol: )

That's what the people down there at SU pushing the game in Jackson should understand.
A game this big help's more than the University.
The brotha on the corner selling BBQ want's to make a buck also.

Jackson will gladly take in all that money for a 3 day weekend.
I may talk shat to ya'll but I damm sure would not complain if ya'll do move that game to Jackson for that reason.
Leaders in Jackson would pitch a fit if JSU said they were moving this game to Louisana. :lol:

The game being played in Jackson came from a serious fight in the stands that happened way back in the late 1970's.

Not that it's any of my concern, but I'm trying to figure out that if SU alumni knew what kind of person this man was before he rose to his current position, why didn't they (including those in the legislature with power), do EVERYTHING in their power to keep this man from reaching such a powerful position?

I was just in Vicksburgs and stop through on my way to Monroe...I went to the roughest spot in VIcksburg..They had a lady in the street with a blood rag on with a broom stick in her hand...with a bunch of hood dudes holding car mechanic tools.. So I hopped out of my car to see what was poppin.. I said "any of yall know a dude name Avis, light skinned kinda chubby?!?".... They heard my accent and was like..."Naw we don't know who that is, if he was somebody real we would know him, do you know Lil Wayne?".. So I sat with them and ate some Hog Cracklin and shoot the shyt for a lil while with them... Yall may notice a few more guest lurking on here... that's them!! I told them all about how that dude GR be claiming he is a street king from Vickburg.... They say if they ever run into such a character name Avis they were going to check him for "false flagging".. Them were some pretty rough dudes, so if I was GR I would shut up on here about all of that because they are now looking on here to see who this dude really is..
