SU and JSU football matchup is always phenominal no matter where the games are played. It's electric and hyped from 1st quarter to 5th quarter. The bands, fans, dance team and cheerleaders are 2nd to none. The game can be a gold mine if our administrators get together and market it better.

My proposal, if it is to be a classic is to put it in New Orleans or Jackson. Call it the Walter Payton classic. Walter's name will get an overflow of support. Have a battle of the bands and greek show on friday and a parade and game on Saturday.

If its gonna be a classic game then it should be at a neutral site.

Jsu doesnt travel well to new orleans... so that site is out..

Jackson site isnt neutral so thats out too!

NEXT!

Classics don't have to be neutral, look at the John Merritt in Nashville every year. Some of us need to stop being so narrowed minded in our thinking process. Excuses for everything isn't health. JSU fans have traveled well to New Orleans. In 2000(in da dome) they beat Su with an average of 42,000 fans and in 2002 that game drew an average of 38,000 in da dome ,but in 2004 32,000 witnessed that game in New Orleans, but 2004 was a bell year.

Get em tomcat....hahahaha
Its taking them a long time to come up with another
excuse

Thank you GetReady,
That means alot to me coming from a swacpage legend like you. I'm just here to show the facts.

Su love playing in Confederate Memorial Statdium in Jackson MS... so that should be the playing site. It doesn't need a Name tagged to it to draw a crowd b/c JSU will be present regardless and SU will be there b/c its in Jackson.

thats b/c SU fans was deep in there.. i was present at all games and JSU side was so empty. Like i said jsu doesnt travel well to new orleans. I know classices dont HAVE to be at a neutral site but I think this game, if it was a classic, should be.

The end.

Man stop it, you are too intelligent to post a comment like that. I was all three games and you could see it was half and half, up until 2004 and JSU was boycotting Bell. Unless you counted all JSU fans you really couldn't tell who outnumbered who. JSU won in 2000 and 2002 with major fans support. JSU also won the attendance those years and also in 2007.

Dude, you lying liike a mofo...it was CLEAR as day when the clock stuck 0:00 and "Rock the House" almost blew the top off the Dome. In 2000, JSU was deep....dare I say we may have outnumbered SUcks. In 2002, the attendance went down but both crowds were about even. In 2004, it was a Bell year but the JSU side was far from empty.

For the record...

The game should stay just as it is, a home and home series. Part of what makes it so special is the fact that there's nothing artificial about it. Its just a good game the fans look forward to every year. Let's leave it at that. SU is stupid for even thinking about moving the game to Jxn or NO. Leave it in BR.

LOL@ tp & tomcat contradicting each other

one say they was boycotting, one say they were there! SO which one of you guys lying?

Let the pissin contest continue

The Bell year I referred to was the boycott year... :( You try too hard. JSU fans didn't follow Bell but we had plenty of fans there. Enough to throw stuff at Bell at the end of the game...lol

I played in that mess in New Orleans in 2004 :shame:

We kicked off and got the ball back with 14:42 seconds left on the clock in the first quarter… you do the math

All I know is I saw more folks from JSU than I thought was coming. Man we wall all over the dome in 2000 and 2002.

True story me and my boy was drinking shots of Henn and having a great time in 2000. We was talking cash money ish and taking laps up and down the stands..LOL This chick with full SU gear tried to trip me with my drank in my hand. Everbody saw her but I jumped over her leg pointed to her and said not today..Man we partied that day.

Then we did it all over again in 2002. Man both times were the same years my kids were born. Oh well I got one due in OCT..

Kent putting on shades on BET send help...LOL

Congrats Shaw.......

2000 and 2002 were decent crowds. I actually expected more in 2000. Especially with both schools coming off the 99 SCG where both games were good. 42K was good. But that Dome just takes the atmosphere out of the SU/JSU game. I was never thrilled about that game being in the N.O. I know alot of SU folks from out of state who bypassed that game simply because they felt like they were already going there for the BC.

Now I may not get folks to agree. If they ever thought about playing that game somewhere other than Jackson or Baton Rouge....then I can see Shreveport being a site. No Classic though. No need for promoters to get involved in a game like this.
