SU games on BET

... BET will televise Southern's games against Jackson State on Sept. 21 in the Superdome and against Alabama A&M in the Circle City Classic on Oct. 5 in Indianapolis' RCA Dome. ...
 
I figured they would find another game to replace SU vs UAPB because I think JSU /TNState is played the same day.

BET really is the JSU football channel.
 



I am going to assume the BET lineup is this:

1. Southern Heritage Classic
2. JSU vs Southern
3. Circle City Classic
4. Magic City Classic
5. Capital City Classic
 
Great News

Being that I live in Miami, I attended the FAMU games on a regular basis. However, since we don't play them this year, I was wondering how many games I could see. I guess the next question is..... are they still tape delay?

It probably will be another tape delay. In the past, the only time slot given to football by BET is 6:00 pm. Any games that start before 6pm are tape delay... I believe this one starts at 1pm
 
As reported by 3C Communications at the SWAC MEDIA DAY.

The SWAC Reported the BET & *NBC Television package as follow:

S.14 Jackson State vs. Tennessee State
S.21 Jackson State vs. Southern
O.5 Alabama A & M vs. Southern
O.26 Alabama A & M vs. Alabama State
N.9 Grambling State vs. Alabama State

D.14 SWAC Championship Game

*N.30 Grambling State vs. Southern *NBC

The Capital City Classic is listed by the SWAC Office to be broadcast by MBC. According to the SWAC Office the conference is scheduled to have 13 games broadcast between BET, MBC, & NBC.
 
Don't be surprised if the SU vs JSU game is pulled from BET...

The conferfence and SU have already spoken about replacng this game with another one...

I've came to the conclusion the SWAC does not want games shown live. BET has expressed several times that black college football ONLY get the 6 (or 6:30 slot) on their network. This goes all the way back to the SWAC '99 championship between SU/JSU. It was tape delayed and the rumor was the SWAC did not want a live broadcast because it might hurt ticket sales.

The SWAC could easily change game times to accomodate TV if they wanted more live games.

SU is the only SWAC school besides JSU that brings more than 10 fans to a game. All of this is common knowledge. Why would they pull the plug on this game. It should be televised EVERY year.

A question? Maybe its because of the programs but, how come we never see TxSo, Valley, UAPB, or
(snicker)PVU on a regular basis? All I hear is SU, JSU, GSU, and Bama St/A&M.

pb gets tv time...

usually pine bluff has three televised games a year.. up ad su on bet except this year.... the gateway classic in st. louis on the metro fox affil there.. and the red river classic with gram and pb is usually on local, metro upn affils

NBC DOESN'T HURT TICKETS SALES AT THE BAYOU CLASSIC.
