SU adds LB coach/other notes

Well, I'm not going to say he will head to SU, but you are right about playing right away. He could even start because we lose Glenn and Jarmaul and those 2 are starters but you never know.

Coach Sig is my frat and I asked him if the boy was legit... Sig said that catch is the real deal. Sig is a straight shooter with me and not prone to overhype kids. Said this kid is dayum near NFL ready on either side of the ball!

Kids usually go where they can play right away...so most likely he will go to Southern.
So are trying to imply that he wouldn't start at Gram :lmao:. Did you read the article in the advocate today.

Clinton High defensive back/receiver Prentiss Waggner has been one of the most sought-after recruits recently.

Editor?s note: This is the first in a weekly recruiting series of the area?s top uncommitted college football prospects for the 2007 season. Today: Clinton?s Prentiss Waggner.

CLINTON ? Clinton football coach Robert Signater shook his head in disbelief.

The small rural school in East Feliciana Parish found itself becoming a destination to college coaches from some of the nation?s top programs when the Eagles conducted their spring workouts more than two months ago.

The featured attraction?

Cornerback Prentiss Waggner.

Coaches from LSU to Florida to Minnesota clamored along Clinton?s sidelines to get a glimpse of Waggner.

The traditional tedious period became a rather memorable time for the younger players on the team awestruck by the collection of coaches from some of the game?s top programs.

?It was a big deal,? Signater said. ?He (Waggner) allowed an opportunity for a lot of players to be seen that may not have been seen by big-time institutions.

?He?s probably one of the biggest recruits in Clinton in a long time as long as I can remember. I think it?s good for the town, and it?s good for him, because he?s going to help many people. He?s helping put Clinton on the map.?

The rise for the Waggner, 6-foot-2, 178 pounds to among the nation?s top defensive backs has been meteoric. He is now ranked 16th nationally by Rivals.com.

I know I could tell but in one highlight he caught an interception and the dude from the other school was popped by somebody on Clinton's team trying to tackle him lol

If he's going to play defense, he will have to be more physical at the college level. He really doesn't like to tackle, but he has everything else. Dude had 16 int's his junior season, thats Baron Jacksonish  .

He'd be given an opportunity to make our team...who knows, he might even make the traveling squad.

MB...you stoopid mane.... Shid if y'all did hire Signater, I'd be damned happy (for personal reasons).

Prentiss is the real deal. A prototypical big, athletic corner that is the trend now. Good hands at WR also. His stats at WR were damn near better than Sterlington's Ahmad Paige, the Florida St. signee that played in the All-American Bowl. I told Signater that Prentiss coulda made first-team All-State as a WR as well.

He's the best defensive guy to come out of Clinton since Edreece came to the yard.
