I need a little enlightenment.
for some reason I was lead to study the strong men around King David.
I Chron 11:11, 2 Sam 23:13
I was looking up a certain number in that passage and the strongs lead me to 7990 in the Hebrew and finally. 7991 This is talking about music and when I saw it,....it just slapped me in my face.Could someone please help me understand what this (shaliyah---shalosh ) is talking about.

Shaliyah [shaliyachis] I am not 100% sure but I think is translated [English]means messenger. I will research the word when I get home.

Shalosh, is the Hebrew word for the number three [3]

The word for ‘Mighty” [1 Chronicles 11:11] is gibbowr {ghib-bore'} or gibbor {ghib-bore'}. And it means mighty, brace, chief (s), valiant. It speaks of ones character, physical strength as in a warrior.

The word in 2 Samuel and 2 Chronicals “Chief” is ro'sh {roshe} = head, up front, rulers, top, height. In this scripture Samuel is talking about Shalosh [shalowsh] / three might men breaking through the host (Army) of the Philistine.

No problem,

Instead of the Strong’s Concordance, try the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible, it cost about $40.00 each [OT – NT] or go to a use book store and purchase one for about $25.00. This bible has additional information that explains the grammatical features of the scriptures. If not the HGWSB, try the Complete Word Study Dictionary: [NT & OT] about $20.00 each.

Whenever I become stuck on a Hebrew word I will call a local Synagogue and speak with the Rabbi. I have found them to be helpful in explaining scriptures, some that I may have mis-understood. One of the Synagogue will be offering a free Hebrew class next month. If all is well, I will be in the class.

Sha-liya-chis, is translated to mean messenger.

7990 = shalliyt (Aramaic) {shal-leet'}[having mastery, having authority, ruling, domineering, imperious]

7991 = shaliysh {shaw-leesh'} or shalowsh ( 1 Chr 11:11; 12:18) {shaw-loshe'} or shalosh (2 Sam 23:13) {shaw-loshe'} = three, triad
