Still Cant Understand how BLACK PEOPLE

You have no control over what other people allow their children to watch on television.
 



I have three children.

One watches it. She's in high school and gets the irony/satire of the show. The two in elementary don't.

BTW, I never said you were wrong. I said you have no control over what people allow to go on in their respective houses.
 
Just because it's a cartoon does not mean it's for children. Boondocks deals with satire that only adults or young adults can understand.

When I was kid I watched Bullwinkle with my older cousins; they were in their late teens and I was around 6 and 7. I never did understood why they were laughing until I got older and understood the satire. :cool:
 
I don't think the show is appropriate for little kids. The folks that air it feel the same way and waits to put it on after 10:00pm. Responsible parents have their kids in bed by this time.

That cartoon is not designed for little children that's why it comes on ADULT swim. That cartoon and the comic strip is amazing and has a good message.

Yes it has a great message. It takes on problems in the Black community like BET, Uncle Toms, Fake Rappers, Wannabe Gangsters, the Government, Ronald Regan, R. Kelly getting away with child molestation and blacks still buying his music, ect. If you have poor understanding it will go completely over your head. It's designed to have a shock factor........

Then you may as well stop picking out only "black shows" and just turn the tv off.
There is not 1 TV show you can name that's "child worthy" if your gonna let TV raise your kid.:)

Boondock's is not even an issue.
It's show in a block called ADULT SWIM.........ADULT..........ONE MO TIME ...........ADULT.:lmao:
It's entertainment and if you don't like, don't watch.
If parent's let their kid's watch, then take it up with the parent's instead of the censor's.

The chosen one's boycotted the "P.J's" out of existance back in the day acting like it was the worst thing on TV AND THE WORLD WOULD END IF IT WAS SHOWN. :lol:
Now it's shown everyday and nobody blink's an eye.

I concur! If I had smaller chillen heck no, but a teenager I wouldn't have a problem with them watching and UNDERSTANDING what the message is!

The only thing different about SP and BD is that SP has too much blasphemy. I can't watch a show cussing Jesus out! If they have done that on BD, I missed that episode. But for now, I love the satire and it is definitely real.

The only question I have to ask myself, if this show had white writers would I feel the same about it. :xeye:
 
That show in not intended for children. As far as good message, it's one of the most ingenious presentations of a satire ever. If you are not a fan of smart satire or even of the comic strip, it will probably go way over your head and you might make the mistake of taking it serious.

If you think The Boondocks is bad for your children. I would ADVISE you to visit your child's school, ride a school bus, listen in on children's conversation, view some of the "teen" myspace pages and listen to some of the "music" we have out there.

I assure you will hear way WORST than Boondocks and even South Park. You can turn off those shows. Try turning off real life.
