Your amateurism status is completed prior to graduation but the transcript review really doesn't happen until after the kid graduates. That's with every single athlete trying to gain initial eligibility. A lot of times the school counselors or college compliance folks will help the kid calculate, but the NCAA has final say and will question any red flags.

PVAMU was SEVERELY undersized and weak along the front DL. We had active nice LBers who had to not only ward off fending OL coming down on them but also had to be overly active to stop the ground game that was coming downhill @ them by the time they blinked. Ditto for our tested secondary. We didn't have any semblance of a 4-man rush and almost had to blitz or run-blitz almost every down, which left us highly venerable past the 5-yd mark (check the stats and a few game films).
We've addressed that.Barely escaping w/ a 34-24 victory and us having 2 turnovers is an "ass kicking?" lol In whose world? lolololololol PVAMU DOMINATED EVERY SINGLE STATISTICAL category in that game. Go to swac.org and see for yourself. Seems like PVAMU kicked its own ass w/ 2 costly turnovers AND a long KR before the half. If all understand the difference between greater than and less than, you'll see what us PVAMU people saw. lol

Don't forget how they were parading around here happy that they moved the game to their stadium because it would eliminate a lot of our fan support and prevent our band from traveling to the game. I remember them talking about how missing out on a lot of money from the traveling SU fans didn't matter to them as long as they got the win. Lost the money and the game. lol

That's not actually true. I went thru it with my son and all his information along with his transcripts was done the summer after his junior year. They knew what classes he needed to take to complete the requirement for his graduation and all they needed was a transcript to show that he graduated with those classes during his senior year. Transcript was sent and he was cleared soon afterwards.
Now you trying to say that they questioned some courses from his 9th grade year after he graduated and was in college? IJS!!!!

GoMOB that's all I was saying, I gave Tillery the Artillery from SU his props because I think dude is legit, but it just seem to really make the list less legit to some SU folks because a PV back (who deserved some shine) made the list and they felt he shouldn't be there, I have seen Hebert mentioned other places and if he plays the same this year he should make someone's Sunday roster as a special teams guy

If he attended a school that closed after he finished ninth grade, there may have been issues getting a transcript.

Once you register with the NCAA Eligibility Center, you may begin receiving various status updates.
Getting those status updates would have let him know what was missing and what was needed to complete the eligibility status including that 9th grade coursework.

No Fiyah. They questioned it when he was a true Freshman entering camp at SU. The NCAA had still not cleared him. Not way after the fact. They have done that with many players. You were involved in your son's recruitment process. Who knows what Quinn had to go through or listened to. Everybody don't go through the same smooth process with no questions asked. You do realize that kid is from Miami. Maybe red flags were up from his HS or something. You never know. With all the recruiting issues that come out of that area, I am sure the NCAA reads through some of those kids paperwork closer than someone from Suburban Houston. Just saying. Hell they bet money on little league football where Quinn is from. LOL.

SU won because PV had a bad defense. Had nothing to do with freshmen, players sitting out, etc. PV was just worse than originally imagined..

No man... I did not say he applied when he showed up on campus. That is too late anyway. I'm saying the process was not completed on the end of the NCAA due to questions about his freshman year of HIGH SCHOOL... when he attended a school that subsequently closed.
Yes you get status updates but you do not get final clearance, and if they have questions they will not approve until their questions are answered to THEIR satisfaction. Your son went to the same school for 4 years, or at least went to schools that did not close before he graduated high school and sought a transcript.
