The economy, tornadoes tearing up the south, hurricanes tearing up the coastal areas, restructuring of companies in America. :idea: Surplus budgets and blowing overhead budgets are gone. Those days will never come back.

This happens all the time. The Sugar bowl just lost it's sponsor not to long ago. 20 years is a long time. Thank you State Farms :tup: .

Yeah, State Farm probably figured they could put that 2 mill dollars to better use like buying all those FEMA trailers for some homeless people or something.
 
how many quotes did they write up as a result of their sponsorship or where they just giving out money for tax write offs? That's the reason, simple as that.
 
I bet you if the game come back to Its originality as it was before Katrina the Bayou Classic will have another sponsor in a heartbeat.It takes both coming together and then doing something by themselves.Trust Me It wont be long until the Bayou Classic going to be a well known event and rivalry again.

WTF? He said plenty people lose their sponsors. Nokia Sugar Bowl was the name before All State. You guys just find negative in every damn thing.

Young fella you going to let this website give you high blood pressure you way to emotional. As stated you know how many corporations would be fighting to get to sponsor the Sugar Bowl the Peach Bowl changed sponsors a couple years ago Chick Fila A pulled out in the same article they named 12 possible companies that would take up the sponsorship. Trust the list wont be no where be that long we have to be reasonable on stuff like that, so to say oh this like the Sugar Bowl is crazy It may workout well for yall ya may get you sponsor but to say its just like what happened to the Sugar Bowl. That wasnt negative at all more like reality but its easier to say im hating so cool.

U hit the nail on the head.
In some cases u can not even get agents to come out and work the games. A lot of them feel it is a waste of time. It was a marketing tool.
 
Why do Louisiana people use Hurricane Katrina excuse for EVERYTHING? That was 7 years ago. That doesnt have anything to do with Bayou Classic attendance now.
 
Black college football has run its course. It's time for schools to start placing heavy emphasis on other sports to make a move to the FBS. Furthermore, enhancing their academics as well.

JSU, Prairie View, and UAPB are making strides academically but we have a long way to go. Truth be told we have stop fighting each other and develop a plan, because quite frankly our presidents are simple happy to be here...

As far as the Bayou Classic...it will be just another game in 5 years.
 
In addition, Katrina helped change the entire political structure of Louisiana, thus the rapid demise of the Democrat party and the rise of Bobby Jindal. It's going to be awhile before we fully recover.
