Star Wars fans: Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia)

Yes it is sad. I really wanted them to give her a send off in Star Wars like they did for Harrison Ford. I'm wondering if they will do the CGI stuff. Now what would really be tough is if Snoke would send Kylo Ren to kill his mother and he does. That would show people how strong the dark side of the force is...then this would ultimately force Luke to kill his nephew.....or fight Snoke.

She finished filming her parts for Episode 8. I'm thinking they will probably go CGI for Episode 9.

I'm hoping they CGI her death. I would rather them doing that than stating in Episode 9 that she died in some type of weird way. Yet, they may have killed her off in Episode 8 with the script.

True, she is the face of the resistance, so what better way for Kylo Ren to demoralize them than by killing their leader and his own mother.

Seriously...they should have scene where Leigh realizes she can use the force and all hell breaks lose because she can't control it....injuring Kylo but killing herself in the midst of it. Luke walks in and see her dead and Kylo getting on a spaceship leaving. MAN OH MAN!!!!!

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!! TAKE CAUTION BEFORE READING THIS!!!!!

I don't know if you've ever read any of the Star Wars books. In the books, Leia and Han get married and have 3 children, 2 of which are twins (a boy and a girl). She and Han did marry after the destruction of the second Death Star. By the time she married Han Solo, Leia is already a fully realized Jedi and could use the power of the Force successfully. While she was already strong in military strategy/combat and political matters, her power with the Force was strongest when it came to feelings/emotions.

While "The Force Awakens" barely touches on the relationship between Luke Skywalker and his nephew, Kylo Ren, I admit I was baffled by the name changes. In the books, Han and Leia's oldest son's name is Jacen. Like his mother and uncle and grandfather, the Force was very, very strong in Jacen, which is why Luke attempted to train him to become a Jedi.

They've thrown out the old EU novels. They have kept some things and changed names but once Disney acquired Lucas films they threw all of that out. However if you notice in the force awakens she feels it once Han is killed by Kylo. In the novel leading up to the force awakens they imply that Leia has force abilities but not a Jedi.

Yes, I agree, but I remember reading from some of the books that Leia was able to recognize the force after Luke had his first encounter with Vader on that mining colony in the clouds (also seen on Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back). But I specifically remember reading that Leia could use and control the Force. One incident was while she was hiding on Kashyyyk (Chewbacca's home planet). If you remember, Leia killed Jabba the Hutt in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The books go on to say that Jabba had a lover who was obsessed with finding Leia and killing her to avenge Jabba. An order was put out on Leia (by someone else), and she (Leia) hid on Kashyyyk, protected by the Wookiees. While hiding out, Leia continued to grow stronger and stronger in the Force, and it was the Force that came to her, alerting her of enemies coming for her, as it was the Force (along with her light sabre, the weapon of a Jedi) that helped her evade them. I can't remember who it was, but this man knew Leia was pregnant with twins at the time and wanted all 3 (her and her babies) to change them to the Dark Side of the Force. She (Leia) was a Jedi at that time.

Also, I remember Leia did become a Jedi in the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series.

To both of you...HELL YEA!!!!
