Stanley "Tookie" Williams....The Countdown Begins


LOL @ Stagga.

I applaud Williams for the changes he's made in his life while in prison. That being said, there are crimes for which you forfeit your own life, and his crimes go way beyond that threshold. Not just the crimes for which he's been convicted, but all the crimes committed by the gang he founded are on his hands. His good works don't undue what he's done, in the case the death penalty more than fits the crime.
 



I am reading what some people are posting on how he should be executed and I for a lack of words, am disappointed! Some of ya'll talk about whats gonna happen to the world with this younger generation, but I'll be glad when you old heads are six feet under because ya'll are nothing but self righteous, ignorant, fools. What ever happened to giving a person a second chance? And who in the hell do ya'll think ya'll are? No one gave any of you the permission of deciding whether or not some one is fit to live or die based on what they've done. NONE OF YOU ARE GOD! Where do you think we would all be if God had not shown us mercy? God is a man of second chances, so why can't we be? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone! Not that my opinion means anything, but I read the posts and I continue to lose respect for some of you on a daily basis.

Interesting post......many people have been lobbying in his favor. I have received a lot of mixed perspective as to whether he should be spared. He has definitely used his time wisely and become an asset as opposed to a liabilty. IMHO, his life should be spared but with no possibility of parole ( I know many will disagree).

I agree with everyone's post it is something to think about. I don't know how or which side to go with, but i have a question not only for you all but me also. Who did God give the authority of taking ones life to? But on the other hand we are supposed to abide by the laws of the land. Now these are some interesting topics that can be touchy. I think even in the Bible (I will have to re-check) it states to follow the law of the land.

It sounds like to me some are simply against the death penalty period and I respect that. I try to put myself in the shoes of the victim's family. This has nothing to do with us being judgmental. We have laws that are clearly defined. I personally just don't understand this Hollyweird and rapper obsession with this murderer. It is well documented that this guy shot that clerk in the back and made fun of him while in prison talking about the gurgling sounds he made laying in his own blood. There is nothing special about this Tookie Williams. He is a four-time convicted killer. He has pay for his crimes.
 
Questions: "Ok, Tookie get killed for his slayings and the start of the gang. What about the other original members? You know, the ones from the other thread. Should they be held accountable in the same fashion for the same thing that Tookie is being held in or do we just say 'justice served' on their accounts? I'm sure some did some slayings also."

I'm sure they have. Tookie couldnt been the only one in the old school doing ALL the killings. Then, why not lock them up and give them the same treatment? Is it because they (society) had an agenda? They gave up the others to go after Tookie?

As described in the other thread, most of the originals also served time in prison for various crimes. They've paid their debt to society based upon the crimes they were charged for.

And that is what I said earlier, CD. I'm pretty sure that some of the originals slayed someone also. They served their time and moved on. Now, with Tookie it seems like they just wanted to set a stage with him. Make him into an example. Well, why not the others also?

kg0586, you are so right..."Where would we be if God would not have given His only Son for us." He is an awesome God. And who are we to say that this man should die? Not any of us are worthy of what God did for us that day at Calavary...We were all on our way to Hell but He sacrificed His only Son for trifling, low-down people like us who are not willing to forgive each other when we mess up. I am so glad that God is the only one that will be my judge and jury, because we as humans, walking in the flesh, are too haughty and judgemental.:redhot:

Unless we have credible evidence, you can't go back and charge them with something just because Tookie did something. That's not the way our system works. They served the time they were charged with and life goes on. In one of the articles it talks about one of the OG's that started the gang was killed back in the late 70's and his killer has never been brought to justice. Who knows what happened to the killer. It is possible he suffered street justice or he has served time for some other crime and is out walking the streets like you me.

I feel that Tookie's life should be spared simply because of the work he has done since being in jail and will continue to do if his sentence is changed to life in prison.

Maybe they don't have the evidence like they have on Tookie.
 
BET did a good job with their story.............A lot of holes, witness brutality by police, and jury tampering exists in this case........

(remember he was not on trial or on death row for starting the crips)

Black convicts like Tookie fugg it up for convicts who had an unjust trial....his trial was just...there were witnesses who said he did the crime....he admitted to doing it....NOW WHAT.
