Hey TSPN Fam
I know we are close to the SWAC Basketball tournament but have any schools announced spring football practice and spring games as of yet?

No. I have official word from football players that our spring ball game will be on April 1st. Spring ball starts on March 18. Most of our team/recruits have the offensive and defensive playbook so we should be ready to go a week after SB.

We don't even have our finalized schedule out yet. But normally, our spring scrimmage coincides with our Founder's Day Week celebration; that starts the week after Easter (April 20th), so I'm guessing our Spring Scrimmage will be either Saturday April 19th or Saturday April 26th.

:noidea::confused:

Did you really mean April 1st? :lol: That's a Tuesday.

ASU put out a notice a week and a half ago.

The Hornets are scheduled to practice 15 times over a six-week period, taking off the last week of March for spring break.

New year...new coach I guess lol. If yall live in the jxn area, drive to the practice field. We got new practice equipment, like brand new. I would think that you would need 1 full month of spring atleast but 00HJ is running this ship so who knows

You can have 15 practices including the spring game over a period of 34 calendar days, not including spring break.

Thanks J4L I new it was limited... Based on our scheudle we will have 25 days to get those 15 practices in...

That sounds pretty normal. A little less than a month to get them in. I think it is better that way than stretching it out the full 34 days. That's about 6-7 weeks and you would average about 2 practices a week to get to 15. The way JSU is doing it. He actually gets more practice time per week condensing it to 3 weeks. Pretty much 5 practices a week to work on new stuff. Not a bad plan by JSU.

Nothing is official but from my conversation with Coach, he said they will start the week after spring break.

talked to my nephew, an Im hearing Alcorn is trying to start Practice Tuesday March 4, but they have no Receiver Coach so If they don't sign one by Monday they will push it back til after spring break..

dang, that sounds smalltime, unorganized, and bootleg. (not to be taken as smack)
We got to do better.

I talked to 1 of the defensive assistant coaches on signing day that said he didn't think it would matter. He felt that Simmons and McNair did so much with the QBs and WRs anyway that they could survive w/o a wr coach. Good if Hopson hired 1 or good if he didn't.

Heck we went a good part of the season without a WR coach.
I was referring to how spring practice seems to be an afterthought, fly by night, unorganized, not sure when it will be, based on if they get a coach tomorrow, it might start then, it might end then etc. How hard it is to set a date, especially if you're trying to engage your fans
