I never said Tennessee State was the only "Division I" in HBCU history. I said they are the only "Division I-A" in HBCU history. That is an undisputable fact. Some HBCUs were "Division I" prior to 1978 and, point of fact, remain "Division I" to this day.

I know Jafus knows this because I read his article about FAMU last year and the Rattlers trying to become the first HBCU since Tennessee State to be Division I-A.

And, Pneck this thread never mentioned anything about NO PWC's no matter what A's they R :nod2:

This is another opinion that is not valid. My posts in this thread were meant to show a different perspective with new parameters. It is not my fault if some people can't read and view it as and adversarial posting. One can also say that you want to play reverse Robin Hood on Grambling's accomplishment and cow tow to Biff, Chip ect......but that would only be an opinion. And as I said above all of us have them??..(for the record your opinion don't mean very much to me)

That's the problem, I DID view it as adversarial posting (unnecesary at that).
And for the record. Some things are opinions, such as in 1980 I think Grambling was the best team in D1AA is an opinion, but it is not opinion, it is fact that Grambling lost to Boise ST in an OFFICIAL D1AA GAME. And your current membership angle is just designed to be adversarial and dimish the fact that they lost seemly because of who posted it. As in the scenerio I explained in my last post, and as PNeck stated later, Classification when the game is played is much more meaninful than current classification. Next you'll dig up some other angle.

CATMENDUE2, I know an old lady that hasn't missed many Southern Games in 20+ years. She knows a lot of players names and schools we played. She still doesn't know how many points a safety is and calls an extra point a field goal. Maybe yall would make good company. Continue cheerleading.

PNeck all of da SWAC was division 1 during that period including Grambling. How was Doug Williams a Heisman candidate if we weren't? :smug:

.

Thats why the rule was changed, Can a Division 2 player win a Heisman Trophy? No. There was a rule change that allows 1AA candidates to participate. In 1976 Grambling was Div II, they were upgraded to D1 in 1977 as was the entire SWAC and in 1978, Doug participated in !AA in its maiden year, which made him eligible to win the award. :wavey:

Now, Thats how it really happened, :slap:

Lewis, I don't give a shat how you viewed it. That is for that other stupidity, you can't read minds (and sometimes read period) and you are wrong as two left shoes. In spite of warped belief, my post were to show another view. You cannot find one post where I disputed his numbers.......release his scrotum. There is no conspiracy theory here to undermind anyone's master.

JROCK,
I read very well, thank you. Now what exactly am I wrong about. Grambling being 3 - 6 in D1AA Games agains PWC. Well, I wonder which way the NCAA counts them, they way you did!!!!!! or the way I did (That you are calling wrong). But is was the "Mr. Charlie comment" that implied that, but you did not say it directly.

It's all good!!! The bottom line is all our school need to do a whole lot better.

Answers

1) "And your current membership angle is just designed to be adversarial and dimish the fact that they lost seemly because of who posted it." False

2) I disputed you numbers using my parameters only. It doesn't matter how the NCAA or NAACP  count it. My numbers were simply to show another view. It is not about what method is right or wrong.

I will agree with your last statement.......We all need to do much better.
