Damn, didn't Jrock just say reading is fundamental.

Southern has the most victories against PWC 12 and the highest winning percentage .371 . Grambling has 3 victories and a .333 winning percentage.

Now count to 3, and then count to 12. You can count to 3 on one hand, You gotta use both hands and take off your shoes to get to 12. Now which one is more.

Note to Jrock: Next time, say counting is fundamental also.

Dude...the only schools you have played are Nicholls and NWSt. That ain't nothing to boost about.

Like I said earlier....You other SWAC schools need to pick up the pace!

I just shake my head at the simplicity many of you people display.

This happens to be a ......... fact.

Grambling is 6-3 vs current I-AA membership historically (non-hbcu)
Southern is 13-21 vs. current I-AA membership historically (non-hbcu)

Against D-1A:

Grambling is 7-7
Southern is 0-3

It's a shame the Jackson State records are so shabby. I would like to see what their program has done historically; The same may be said for Alcorn. If any posters have historical numbers for the Mississippi programs please post.

Jrock, Grambling is 3-6 not 6-3. We have a higher winning percentage than they do.

SO*, Right now we are talking 1AA. 2 of your 3 victories are against Nicholls St. So what are you talking about.

Now against 1A, I give *rambling thier props.

You are wrong:

Gram vs:

1)Deleware W 17-8
2)Cal St. Sacr. W 34-7
3)Portland State W 30-29
4)Nicholls W33-15
5)Nicholls W37-28
6)NWST W14-13

(losses 2 to Mcneese and One to Stephen Austin which I attended)

Mr Charlie tell you all what he want you to know. Yall need to do your own research.

Thanks JRock, these numbers are more like what I remembered, Grambling also beat Fullerton State twice. Anybody can compile junk and make it look reputable. Until 2002 Grambling had never lost to a Southland/Gulf States conference foe in a regular season games. :shh:

GRAMBLING lowest win percentage against all conferences .500, highest is against the MEAC and that almost .750. Grambling is 1.000 against the Pac Ten. As JROCk says reading IS fundamental :lmao:

The list and topic at hand is record against 1AA PWC 1AA was not created until 1978. So given your list:
The Game against Deleware was in 1973 before D1AA was created..
Cal St.-Sacramento was in 1968, before D1AA was created.
Northwestern was in 1974, before D1AA was created.

Now your list ommits the following beatdowns:
80 Boise St. L, 9-14 <== This was a 1AA playoff game
84 Boston U. L, 9-16
85 Arkansas St. L, 7-10 <== Division I-AA 1st Round Playoff Game
89 Stephen F. Austin L, 56-59 <==Division I-AA 1st Round Playoff Game

02 McNeese St. L, 20-52
03 McNeese St. L, 20-31

While it is true that Grambling beat some D1A schools, like Oregon St. and deserve major props for that, but that is not part of this discussion. We are talking d1AA PWC.

P.S. CATMENDUE2,The 2 Cal St. Fullerton games were early 70's, before D1AA. IF you were there and remember them games, you must be old as hell

Lewis,

The fact of the matter is Grambling is 6-3 historically as I stated in my post against current I-AA membership (Boise State, Arkansas State and Boston are not current I-AA members...look it up). Arkansas St and Boise State or listed in the current I-A membership in the numbers I posted for Grambling. Boston is not in any D-1 current membership. Just as someone can post records from 1978, I can post records for current membership (the ice water is not colder).

Like I said earlier.......Ya'll aint reading

Can we agree then, that Grambling record against 1AA (PWC's) in the last six game is 4-2 for GSU.

GS, GS, GSU, I thought you knew! I was at Grambling before the White Tigger. :lmao:

I don't post in this forum much but I couldn't help but laugh at some of this foolishness. The stats have been presented clear and plain as day. The SWAC as a whole is not beating outside teams. And if you say they're the cellar dwellers of their conferences then thats worse because we are still losing.

Theres no point in complaining about the rankings if the statistics confirm them.

Thanks JRock, you speak the truth....but anyway maybe its just me, but it seems like we play/or they choose to play us a year after the our best teams would have really handled them. Case in point, the first time that Gram played McNesse in McNesse, if this game happened a year earlier I think that that Grambling team would have gave them a better game. This is just one of some of the games that would have been a different story a year earlier. As far as the rankings go, bring this discussion back at the end of the season.

Excuse me but isn't this the focal point of his statement?

CATMENDUE2 said:
When 1AA teams outside of the SWAC call the Gram, SU, JSU and ALBST to play on a regular basis as they do for MVSU, ALcorn, TSU and PV then things will change. PWC's only plays SWAC's lower five because they know they can win and they don't have to return the game. Grambling has attempted many times to arrange games OOC and we all know what happened. Actually Grambling's record against the Southland is actually pretty damn good and so is Southern's.

It amazes me that OOC teams plays our weak sisters and beat the hell out of the them, but it dosent seem to alter the their conference strengths. If the the big Three or Four teams in SWAC played any 1AA conference weak sisters on a regular basis, it quite reasonable to believe that their strengths would start to fall also.

Elite PWC's quite frankly, don't wont to travel to HBCU and if anyone here is dumb enough to believe anything other than that :mrt:

And if so how does this list address that or prove him wrong?

I don't believe that there is any current conspiracy theory. The landscape has simply changed. One thing though that cannot be disputed are facts. If you put lipstick on a pig it is still a pig. The facts are that historically Grambling has a winning record against current I-AA membership. Some in this thread are not reading what I am posting and intent on hurling responses and opinions that are not in my post. Not once in my postings have I disputed the fact that HBCU(s) are not fairing well against our counterparts. What I have done is offered historical facts that precipitated the current conditions. I see those records as a sympton to a larger problem. In Grambling's case, I manipulated data no more that someone else that decided to show numbers that started from 1978. Some (not all.....not singling out anyone in particular) have the unmitigated gall to hurl adverse comments and adjectives and lack reading and research skills (or simply too lazy to do so). That in my opinion is "foolish." I have stronger adjectives and opinions but will keep them to myself to keep peace (unless I'm provoked).

Grambling's overall record I-AA vs. I-AA non-conference is 36-27-1 (.570).

I'll post everyone eventually, but it'll take a few days. Other SWAC teams I've done so far are:
Alabama A&M 4-7 (.364)
Alabama St. 6-11 (.353)
Alcorn St. 21-35-1 (.377)
Ark.-Pine Bluff 0-3 (.000)

Other teams of note that I've done so far:

Appalachian St. 37-21 (.638)
Bethune-Cookman 13-35 (.271)
Citadel 17-10 (.630)
Colgate 75-56-1 (.572)
Delaware 61-32-1 (.654)
Delaware St. 24-44-1 (.355)
Eastern Ill. 44-39 (.530)
Eastern Ky. 53-41-2 (.563)
Eastern Wash. 29-24-1 (.546)
Florida A&M 58-58-2 (.500)
Furman 45-19 (.703)
Ga. Southern 104-25 (.806)

Since the inception of I-AA, Grambling is 3-5 vs. I-A. Those games are:

78 Tennessee St. W, 16-11
79 Tennessee St. L, 13-24
80 Tennessee St. W, 52-27
81 Southern Methodist L, 27-59
83 Southern Methodist L, 13-20
85 Oregon St. W, 23-6
00 Louisville L, 0-52
03 San Jose St. L, 0-29

Tenn. State is I-AA and has been for awhile. The only other conference I remember them being in was an Independant I-AA team .

Cat, classification has nothing to do with an athlete being a Heisman candidate. GSU was hyping Bruce Eugene for the Heisman last year, as well as Steve McNair finishing 3rd in the Heisman voting his senior season. Along with Gordie Lockbaum from Holy Cross finishing 7th in the Heisman voting his senior season, and Adrian Peterson from Georgia Southern getting Heisman consideration his senior year. All were D1AA athlete's.

NICE

The fact of the matter is Grambling's record is above .500 no matter what angle he wants to use, and no matter what PWC's they have played against. :nod2:
