I'm from the State of Indiana, a well documented racist place. There has been a "revolution" of sorts in sports.
With the hiring of Tony Dungy for the Colts, all the major sports have a black head coach. Isiah Thomas is the Pacers coach. The two most celebrated college programs in the state, Indiana U. basketball and Notre Dame football, have black head coaches. (Mike Davis and Ty Willingham)
Is this a first, having Black coaches as the head of ALL major programs? Is this a sign of progress for Blacks in head coaching jobs, or just a coincidence?
Thoughts?
