Spoilers**Superman Returns

MACBFAC

No Mulligans!!
Just got back from the matinee(AC went out at work so they sent us home  )anyhoo The Movie Is Off The Chain!!!! That is kid gonna be something special...............:shh:

I checked it out yesterday and I was impressed. Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman should be proud of the way the movie turned out to be. They also kept John Williams original score from the first movie. When they played it, everyone was acting a straight fool in the theatre.

Man yeah.....Lol!!!! that scene on the roof with superman and the guys robbing the bank got the theater crunk!!!

I finally had a chance to see the movie tonight. I really enjoyed it. Lex cracked me up when he got a look at that kid.

In the words of American Idol's Randy Jackson, this movie was just alright for me. I understand having a young looking Superman, Lois, and Jimmy, but with them looking as if they were all in their early to mid 20's, SM's 5 year absence seems a little strange, because of their youth.

Also, the story never touched on Lois telling dude, he wasn't the kid's father, or either he already knew, and they just didn't go there.

I couldn't understand why the probation board would allow Lex to get out of jail, after all the charges he went to prison for, you'd think they wouldn't need Superman's presence at his hearing to keep him in jail. I thought it would've made Lex's character more menacing if he'd broken out of jail, instead of being released. I mean with him being the ciminal that he was, who could stop him, or find him without Superman being around.

I would've also like to have seen Kevin Spacey make Lex's character more of the cartoon strip Lex, instead of basically re-doing Gene Hackman's more comical, yet malicious Lex.

I don't know, it just seems like it took the movie too long to build up to Superman, and Lex coming to blows, and really there was only one scene where they shared the screen together. This movie was a good love story, and nothing more, a waste of 2 1/2 hours.

I guess I would've liked to have seen what Superman was going through before he left, and what the world had become in his absence, and how it affected Lois to make her want to write the article. Also I would've like to seen how his absence made her move on, and fall for Perry's nephew, instead of just getting the brief explanation as to why he left from his converations with his Earth mom, and Lois.

Did she geniunely like dude, or did she get with him, because she got tired of waiting for Superman to come back. I know one thing for sure, Superman was a hater, and doesn't play fair. Knowing her situation, he still came around flying her all over the place, and laying the sob story on her on why he's needed. Hell, I probably would've done the same thing too, if I could fly, knowing a woman still had feelings for me.

NICE

This movie was so C+ for me.

Ole boy did a good job on Superman, Lex was okay, Lois was forgettable. The only character that stood out to me was Kitty.

It was like 5 people sleep in the theatre when I took the kids this saturday.

Nice,

I figured Lois settled for ol' dude because she was tired of waiting for Superman.

CD, I did too, but I thought it woulda been cool seeing her go through her changes, and I still don't get the relationship with the child. Did dude know it was Superman's kid, or does he think it's his? If that's the case, then Lois was doing them both around the same time.

Also the thing that's really puzzling, is nobody but the child has put 2 & 2 together with Clark/Superman. Lois & dude thought about it, and then joked it off, but nobody at the Daily Planet has seriously thought about those 2 being 1 in the same.

Prior to Clark showing up no Superman, Clark shows up Superman appears. Clark leaves for 5 years, Superman leaves for 5 years, Clark comes back, and so does Superman, and to think those people are supposed to be journalist/reporters/investigators. lol

We are on the same page there. I turned to my wife and said, why is it that news reporters can't connect the dots? Clark returns to work after being gone for 5 years and wow!!!! superman has come back as well.

I agree with you. However, it just a movie.

How would it look if everyone knows if the kid happens to be Superman's son? Just think about how Martha and Jonathan Kent Clark Kent. It would be smart not to mention it to Perry's nephew. Let the child have a secret identity.

I also agree on your opinion of Lois Lane's character in the movie too. The screen writers should have gone in depth with her role.

I can't take it anymore!!!

I'm gonna call in sick to see the movie!!!! :emlaugh:

R, I agree it's just a movie, but the way all of the other superhero movies have been made lately, there's been some true character development, and I just didn't see it done in this one.

I'm not saying Lois should let everybody know about the kid, but if anybody has the right to know it's Perry's nephew, because not only is he raising the child as his, but they live together. At some point, like the Kent's did, when Clark started realizing his powers, dude is going to find out what he has, and know that he's not the father. Did you see the way Lois looked when the kid threw the piano? Sure, the Kents knew Clark was an alien, but they really didn't know what they had until he started changing?

The second that happens in front of Perry's nephew, how do you think he's going to respond to Lois, especially after thinking that child was really his after all those years? It's a big difference telling a man you're pregnant when you meet him, and having him raise the child as his, but it's a totally different animal, having him think you're pregnant for him, and then later find out you've been with another man, especially Superman. He already suspects she's not being honest with him about her, and Superman's relationship, did you see the way he looked at her, when she asked him to go back for Superman?

The second that boy does something like he did on the boat, he will know that, that's Superman's child, and I think it's better for a man to know up front that he's not the father, or at worse let him know that he may not be, that's all I'm saying.

NICE

Cool.

I was not impressed by this movie, but then again I am a comic book fan.

I think they should have added another villian like Doomsday or the Parasite.

BTW, I still think Captain Marvel (Shazam) can kick Supe's azz!

Nice, that adds real life drama. How many times have you heard stories where a guy thinks the kid is his, but finds out YEARS down the road that he ain't the one.

CD, you can say that again. That's some drama for ya arse there bruh. Being a Navy man, you don't know how many times I've seen this. My boy, and I used get high laughing at how many kids were walking around Norfolk, thinking one sailor was his dad, when in actuality it was another dude off of another ship that was tapping his mom's, when his "supposed" dad was on a Med Cruise, or some dude she went to high school with.

GL would wipe the floor with Capt and Sups. When are they gonna make a GL movie (no Hal Jordan lame @ZZ either) John Stewart, Kilowag or Kyle Reynor.

Man, what is you GL supporters thanking?

I saw Slade (terminator) break GL's fingers so he couldn't use his own ring.

Read Red Sun, it depicts a "what if" scenario where superman crash landed in the Ukraine instead of Smallville.

Superman kicked the entire GL corps to sleep.

He explained that since he can damn near move at the speed of light he could get them before they got him.
