You know the series was base on historical fact. Spartacus led the largest slave uprising in history. In the final episode we saw the rise of Crassus, Caesar, and Pompey who's conflicts would end the Republic and lead to the establishment of the Roman Empire under Octavian (Augustus).

I know but I just had hoped that history had been more kind to our beloved rebel forces.

Thanks for putting everything into perspective though. I feel a little better now.
