Will someone from Southern please tell me that Southern is not trying to slip St. Pauls College in as a 12th football game. It was mentioned on a local talk radio show. Isn't Miles College bad enough. They have to be joking, right. Smack wise this would be too easy. The Jaguars may need some wins, but come on.

Thames, what show did you listen to?

Anyway, while I think this thread is just another in the long line of SU obsession and perpetuated "others" bullshat, who knows what is happening for a 12th game.

Then again, they would be just another "Tiger" on the hit list this season.....

Help me to understand...

Me and 3500 naked Iranians could care less about the yellas. You know that my sense of rivalry would be just as great if it was a yella rat versus a brown rat in a rat pissing contest.

But what's the big commotion about who they schedule? If they can get a rent-a-win home game against some patsy, then good for them. Now I can understand if YELLA's season ticket holders have a problem, but even then I wouldn't agree. I would think that it's merely a case of the AD getting another home game and the coach getting a breather in his schedule.

From a fan perspective, I'm sure everyone would love to see an SU/ASU matchup or SU/TnSU. However, Sugar Pop Pete knows that the JSU and GSU games are must wins. A favorite expression of mine (often made to a womanizing cousin) is that there are only so many shots in a Roman candle. Pete is saving his "shots" for these two key games.

We need a 12 game against someone we don't have to give a return game to. That makes it hard to get a quality opponent. If you are to dumb to understand that, then you would be smacking yourself to try to smack us on that.

Lewis:
They just don't understand... When they schedule a D-II team, it's because they are sced.

When SU schedules a D-II, it's a logical business decision. When will they learn?

SU JAG 79,

I heard this on the Jaguar Journal with Carlos Brown. He says that his sources had been telling him about this possible 12th game.

Mike,

Tell all of our naked Iranian friends hello, but my concern is for the strength of the conference power rating. We already get too little respect as a conference. I think SWAC schools should be trying to upgrade their schedules not downgrade them.

Thames,

I see you working on that angle. But we really need to be concerned with the $ and not the conference power rating.
It would not help the conference's power rating with blow out losses.

I understand the need to upgrade, but I feel it more important to
schedule a couple of guaranteed wins and get some $$$$ in the process.

Plus dem YELLAS might be sked!

This is sad and typical.

Am I the only one that hates a damn coward?

Yall gone learn how to believe me when I tell you something.

SU is not interested in scheduling good non conference HBCU games. Im now standing on my head. What else do I have to do for you to believe me? Just look at their current trend of opting out of the FAMU game, trying to get away from Bama State, and ducking Alcorn.

Next year....and you heard it hear first....they will do their best to duck JSU.

Color it anyway you want to....the fact is the reeks of cowardessism.

Benedict College send help

Things.... worser.... pass

Fothern why is it always some sort of scandal with you and these Junior High teams? where is your sense of competition and fair play? man this is sad.

JV,

Why even bother! These Haters have nothing better to do with their time. This is really sad :(

Whinning like a Bia Bia

These lames can't remember the last time their SUperior played a D-2 team. But, I bet they can remember the last time their ghetto school played a D-2 school. Let he in the SWAC that hasn't played more D-2 schools than S.U. the last 10 years cast the first stone!!! That what I thought, a bunch of NON SMACKING HYPOCRITES.

I hope you guys arent scheduling St. Pauls. If you do, it would really show how big of a coward your school is....This is really a damn shame and SU is proving my point.

Adn oh yeah......this really has nothing to do with hate....try another line

Stop Whining........

And attempt to "cast the first stone."

Now who is the TRUE COWARD...........That is what I thought.

BTW,

Rent Ready?

JSU scheduled New Haven in April of 1999 when USM backed out on us. There were no good teams left to play. We had to choose PV, NC Central or New Haven. New Haven was the best opponent. Actually, if SU is too scared to play New Haven. New Haven would rip SU an new one.

Also, how and WHY would JSU be scared to play TxSo. We decided to play a team better than TxSo in A&T. Who's scared. Look at our schedule. We fear no one.

TP

No need to defend playing NH. NH would have beaten everyone in the SWAC except Grambling in 2000.

SU is just sorry and they are trying to pile up wins against below average schools. Miles and MoB are a joke.

Stop WAFFLING!!!

Cast the first stone.

Once again your mouth wrote a check that your conferederate colors wearing school cant cover.

S.U. this S.U that.......blah blah blay.....Stop your whining and SWEEP around your own front door.

Here is a novel idea......Figure out a way to stop giving up 60 something points to non-confernce foes and your #1 nemesis in the east or maybe you jSue should join the SIAC.

1996 was a good year..............SAD
jsue cry.......Thank goodness for Title IX

Okay, tell me how the situation was different GR? After USM pulled out on y'all, y'all had D1-AA Prairie View, and two D II schools in NCC and New Haven? Why did you choose the DII school?

Apparently, Southern doesn't even have the choice of a D1-AA school for the 12th game. If you are going to criticize Southern with no choices, criticize Culberson and your damn self for accepting New Haven as a respectable opponent.

Damn Hypocrites!

TP,

who cares what New Haven would have done. We know what they did do against Jackson and that's all that matters. According to your boy, it shouldn't matter what you did against them anyway because great HBCU's like Jackson State and Southern shouldn't be playing them D2 schools, right GR?

Unfortunately every other 1-AA or Div II school either didn't have that date as an open, wanted a home and home series, or simply refused to play us.

now dayummmmmmmmm

BBQBengal, I would suffice to say that this game was the Heritage Bowl against a MEAC 1st Tier...and JSU played in the Heritage Bowl, when? Oh, they playedin the playoffs...and lost to who? EVERYBODY

Get Ready and Tigerpride
No need to defend playing NH.
I am not trying to smack yall on that. Just like tiger pride said, yall did what yall had to do with what was availaible. My point is why knock us for doing the same. The only difference is yall drug yall behinds all the way up to New Haven to play them first, and did a home and home. We ain't doing that. SO that limits our choices. We ain't playing at no DII school like yall did. Even if NH was a good team, do you think yall got any extra brownie points for beating them instead of PV. NOPE , but yall had to bus (don't tell me yall spent the money to fly) yall team all the way to NH. Hell , we did not even return a visit from Morris Brown. I don't know why yall was tripping on PV anyway, yall still played them this year at BlackShear, that would never happen to Southern.

Now the young buck that started this may not understand, but Get Ready and TigerPride, yall know better.
