Southern vs Memphis Game Updates: 11:00am CT

I hate to say this because some on here would think I'm thinking White, but the laws of physics (Newton's Three Laws of Motions) could help in some instances. Timing and position are key factors. Film breakdown will help coaches understand why players are always getting out of position. Understanding physics would help them see what needs correcting.

Large schools are using gps devices embedded w/in players pads to track speed so they can ensure no one is out of position during practice AND ensuring no one is giving 100% effort vs 60%. They literally calculate all of it.

We can too. Those devices can't be too expensive, but you have to have someone who knows how they work in order to analyze the data.

Does Odum care about special teams(punting unit). Since he has been there they have Suck.. Is it really hard to find a decent punter??. It is the small stuff that drives me up the wall.

It's that punting formation that baffles the hell out of me. As long as I have been watching football, I have never seen something so sorry and bush league. If he is letting one coach handle this unit, he needs to be fired and sent back to where ever the hell he came from. I don't understand how that can happen over and over again in the same game without any adjustments....

No amount of hydrating would've made THAT much of a difference in preventing this massive beat down.

Tennessee State Alum here...I am very proud of the way Southern represented today. I'm super glad that we don't play you guys this year. I spent my 3 hours in the hot sun rooting for Southern, because as you all know, we root for one another unless we are playing one another. Memphis struggled with Ole Miss last week. Memphis also struggled with Southern today. This was truly a game where the depth wore Southern down. That first drive was AMAZING. I look up at the clock, and it was literally 90 seconds before Southern scored. The DBs for Southern took away the long ball and contested those receivers. The Special Teams needs a lot of work. That blocked punt was bound to happen, and honestly, that's what gave Memphis the momentum.

Sitting around a lot of Memphis fans, they respected you all so much, and I'm so thankful I took the time out of my Saturday morning to support a fellow HBCU. If Southern has the depth and Special Teams play as Memphis, they win the game.

Also, I think it was smart to not return any kickoff. Think about it this way...Memphis respected your return guys so Southern started their drives at the 25. And oh yeah, that front D-Line for Southern is kinda good.

I just wanted to give a few tidbits from what I witnessed in person, and I'm so proud of you all for representing so well. It's a long season and I wish you all the best in the SWAC. That offense you guys run is something serious because you all have a LOT of playmakers and you have a QB that seems like he makes good decisions.
