This is the best our defense has looked in years, especially against the run. We've missed a couple things but by and large it was a great half. Had we played this way against Tech, we could've made a game of it.

If Howard would be a little more accurate, this game would be a nail biter with the way Southern's defense is playing.

I am extremely proud of the brand of football Southern University played in the first half. The defense is playing inspired football and doing an excellent job of stopping Georgia's run game. The offense is playing very strategic, viewing Georgia's defensive sets and taking what is there. They are focusing on ball control offense and not overly trying to get the big play. I love the way they have been letting the play clock run down to eat up the clock before running the play as they examine Georgia's defense.

see this is what alcorn didn't do. southern has repped themselves and the swac well. they came out and competed. tillery looks like a better back than chubb on this day.
