Can SU still make it to the SWAC Championship with its remaining schedule YES.
But the question?? we have is can they get past Alcorn.

Odom’s will have to step out his comfort zone on offense and that secondary has to be coached up better than the effort shown today but that’s been a problem and weakness of southern especially against the elite throwing teams example (Famu and Alcorn) ... tbh don’t sleep on that November stretch... I know on paper how it looks, but you’re getting every teams best shot... aamu can get hot and play with anyone when they are hot, JSU can make it interesting if they keep it close, and Grambling smells blood and is coming after y’all heads at the classic... don’t underestimate anyone y’all have a lot of trap games left.

It was a good game. I was shocked at 3 things.

Alcorn run game getting shut down
Skeleton not looking nowhere near as good as he did last year
Southern secondary. They were getting burned on just about every play

Good game Jags

Alcorn was impressive
Felix Harper masterful

No knock on Johnson? is that his name can't remember now lol Harper has been killin everyone, thought it was our D but he has been making everyone look bad, he should get SWAC player of the year after he wins the CB for you

Don't feel too bad. We "controlled" him for 2 1/2 quarters before he made our secondary look like a NAIA level squad in the 3rd quarter lol (we did a pretty good job at stuffing their run game. We know that secondary is a big time priority this recruiting cycle (along with QB and maybe some big body LBs))

Feels good to see he is doing that to everyone lol

One of the differences I observe in SU and Alcorn is QB development. Alcorn’s McNair is a former “Great” QB and can “teach” the position. Yesterday’s game was a microcosm of that as we saw Felix Harper play the position at a very high level. Great game Alcorn and we hope to have a return engagement!

Dez the option is only affective against elite teams if you can pass out of it. As I said, your qb Skelton doesn’t feel comfortable consistently throwing down field or maybe isn’t capable. Hard to tell. Until that’s address no championships for Su...
BS . We didn’t even run the ball when Skelton was in the game. We had him trying to be like Drew Brees.

None of those teams are beating SU. The defense played fine. They were tired in the 2nd but they held Alcorn to 3 at the half.

Right! Our offense yesterday didn't play up to par. We will be fine going forward. Everybody outside of Southern got an opinion but most on here can't beat Southern with Lampley at quarterback smh

We have high hopes but we gotta get better every week, one game at a time
on your point though, I need to see one more test out of Felix Harper to know he's really THAT Deal.

Johnson is special in his own way, both can get it done but Johnson is a championship QB. Felix as well as he's played he hasn't done that yet.

SU is not a joke, they came in with a very good gameplan and held us to 3 for a whole half. I think we made some key adjustments to be able to punch it in for TDs in the 2nd half. SU is very talented up front.

This is very true. I along with other Alcorn fans feel SU has a QB that hasn't been developed yet. for competition reason's I won't divulge who we said that was lol

Well it's obvious about our quarterback" idc what nobody's says if he would of played up to pair the first half at FAMU, SU would have won that game.. It is to late in the season for him to be playing like this..

I will say as a Brave fan SU makes us nervous because we have won 9 of the last 10 meetings. Eventually as good as SU is the law of averages catch up with you and it can happen at the wrong time. There are some teams you cannot have a bad day and SU is one of them.
