You were claiming AAMU was as good as Gram 05 a min ago. Now, you talking about Bama St being in the SCG. Get out of here.

The Mighty Jags aren't overlooking anyone to the SCG. :nod: We are focused on AlaSU and I don't think it's a preview but we will see.

Although SU performed well last night, let's not forget we are talking about SU. AlaState is barely making it past teams like Alcorn and TxSo. Right now, SU looks 2-3 TD's better than AlaState. But again, we are talking about Southern.

AAMU run defense was exposed by Mississippi Valley and Grambling took full advantage of the situation. If AAMU can make future adjustments to stop the run, they will be in Birmingham, if not it will be Alabama State or JSU. The beginning of the seaon Southern was my choice to represent the West. Just in case you forgot, Southern owns GSU.

Oh. I thought you were one of the fans who are saying that now asking are we serious. I'm surprised at the 4-0 start and folks were saying that we weren't going to do nothing because of that preseason crap but now they know that this team won't be easy to deal with.

Grambling didn't beat AAMU with the run so please try again. AAMU is still the best team in the East with Jackson behind them by a slight margin. Bama St has won games but they are not playing good at all. Southern has a two game lead in the series and Grambling has won 2 of the last 3 games in case you didn't know.

Football 101

Defense: Shut down the running game

Grambling had two 300 pounders who shut down the middle of the field. When AAMU's offensive linemen would double team one of the 300 pounders, Grambling would send a linebacker into the gap or space where the one of the offensive linemen left. Thus, causing mass confusion because AAMU had no answer. Great strategy by GSU


Offense: Confuse the defense

Grambling ran a lot of mis-directions and reverses, plus GSU took full advantage of AAMU lack of ability to stop the run up the middle. The running back from Valley had 146 yards on the ground. Again Valley exposed AAMU and Grambling's coaching staff did a fantastic job of following a great strategic plan.


The Key: I agree AAMU is still the best team in the East. However, SWAC coaches will use the GSU game plan to try to stop AAMU for the remainder of the season. It is up the AAMU to make the proper adjustments. If they make the necessary adjustments they will be in Birmingham if not it will be JSU or Bama State.


Talent is great, but talent and a great game plan wins 99% of the time

Nawl G4Life, they dont have to have Gramblings talent to stop AAMU. I always said they werent good. Grambling just did what they do and exposed them for who they really are. Look at the beginning teams of this year on AAMU's schedule and then look at how the swac was last year. Now that the swac has gotten better, I just dont see AAMU making it to Birmingham. No smack intended. Also thats like what I say about Bama State, after what I saw on tv last night, Southern will run through them like water. Nothing impressive at all. Again no smack intended, JMO.

I disagree with your premise that they aren't good. They are a good SWAC team. They just aren't a great SWAC team.
 
Its going to be an great game next week should be from30,000 to 40,000 plus national tv aud all the makings for an big time college football game.:jump:

40,000 means a sell out well Ladd holds 40,646 but 40,000 won't be bad at all. I don't think it will hit 40k but 30k should be the minimum.

I REMEMBER WATCHING THE GAME AFTER KATRINA ON TV AND I WAS SHOCKED AT THE AMOUNT OF FANS AT THAT GAME I KNOW THIS WILL BE AND GCC RECORD WHICH SU HOLDS ALREADY.:nod:
