Southern vs Alabama A&M: Game Updates - 4:00pm CT

I agree.... Your RBs & WRs had quite a few dropped passes which could have changed the final outcome...

Maynor will have them boys rolling the field at practice this week ...he said his players have to pay the price for mistakes. I know he will also address complacency and not keeping a fire lit...seems like they didn't get serious again til the end with 27 pts and we still lost by not tieing it up with a 2 pt conversion to take it to OT.

1 2 pt conversion away from OT...damn damn damn james lol

we will take this tough L and Maynor & staff will continue to change the mindset of some of the players who are stuck in the past of spady's losing ways.

the 1st year of the GCC had a good crowd at the game. Imo we probably wont be playing SU in Normal/Huntsville for a good minute..just like in birmingham the local black community in Mobile shows more overall support to A&M and that was reiterated this weekend.

Nothing against AAMU, but like a fellow jag said behind me in the stands, AAMU was expecting to finish near the bottom.. This says less about them, and more about SU in my opinion

You’re statement is so right! Coach Maynor and the staff are trying to break them out of that mentality! So many players are so used to losing., when they play and have a lead , they don’t know how to finish and close a game out.

This is how the old AAMU used to be, so nothing's really changed other than the coach.

That’s what Coach Maynor told us last night after the game. Players are so used to Spady’s ways of losing that it’s affecting the new staff’s philosophy!

The Gulf Coast Challenge contract between Southern & Alabama A&M was a one year deal. So there’s no telling who will play in it next year.

A&M and Southern’s fans showed enough that they could make it happen next year. But the Front office folks that i spoke with said that they haven’t discussed next years classic opponents yet.

If it’s around in 2021, i expect Southern & FAMU to play in it. (They hvs a home and home in 2019 & 2020). Mobile is a perfect place for a neutral sight game.

Mo, I think Southern FAMU should play every third year in Mobile. Bragg, then Mumford, then a neutral site.

I know Maynor is ready for the team to be all his recruits instead of a mix. They gotta lock "some" of spadys players in a dark room & play connell maynor motivational clips.

Yeah, that's smart. Blame the previous coach's players and place a "divide" within the team.
Some of the play-calling was a bit suspect as well. Maybe that's Spady's fault too.

Hmm, somebody needs to tell Maynor to take responsibility for the "L," and stop doing that mess Trump does every time something doesn't go his way (blaming Obama). That excuse is going to last for so long so why even make the argument to begin with (unless he is insecure and don't think AAMU administration will give him time to show his leadership) Everyone should know it may take time for him to turn around AAMU program (if he is capable). AAMU is still in contention to win the East. His focus should be on correcting any current issues and getting ready for his next game. How a coach is going to send a subtle message to his team that they don't know how to win when their in the heat of battle and he is the General is beyond me. That game next week against jsu is even larger than the last one at this point.
